A Summer Mini Album with Guest Becki Adams

We are so excited to welcome our special guest designer for June to the blog today, Becki Adams! Becki’s designs are truly sensational—full of color, texture, pattern, and interactive elements. Becki always explains her process in a way that makes her projects easy to recreate, and we think that the project she is sharing today is no different! We’re sure it will have you itching to use your June kit and add-ons as soon as your box arrives!

Hello Elle’s Studio friends, I’m Becki Adams, here to share with you a fun mini album that I created with the June 2022 kit and add-ons. I had SO much fun creating with this kit and add-ons to create this fun matchbook mini album. This little album only took about an hour and a half to create. Yes, it is super easy!

I created the base of the album using one piece of white cardstock, measuring 3 1/2” x 11”. Then, I scored at the 4”, 4 1/2”, and 9” marks and folded them all towards the middle, creating a matchbook shape.

After I got the base of the mini album cut and scored, the real fun began with the June Kit and The Best Paper Stack and the Pocket Tabbed Metal Dies. I cut out pieces of patterned paper to match all the panels on the base of the album and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine and white thread. Then I cut out 8 pages for the album using patterned paper and the 3 x 4-inch Pocket Tabbed Metal Die

After cutting out all the patterned paper, I laid all eight pages out on my desk and started embellishing. I used SO many fun goodies to embellish these pages including puffy stickers, die cuts, the Outlined Stars Metal Die, tabs, labels, and tags!

Last but not least, it’s time to tie this album together. I clipped everything together exactly how I wanted it. Then, I used my Crop-a-Dile from We R Memory Keepers to punch holes through the bottom of the album. I used eyelets on the front flap of the album to prevent tearing. Then, I threaded a coordinating ribbon through the base of the album and all the pages. The big red bow on the front of the album is what holds everything together. To close the album, you simply tuck the top flap into the bottom flap just above the bow.

This album came together better than I imagined. Don’t you love it when that happens?! After the album was finished, I filmed a video showing how to score and fold the paper and a walkthrough of the entire album! Watch below, and get inspired to try out this mini for yourself!

I’m so grateful to Meghann and Elle for having me as the June guest designer, and I cannot wait to show you the second project I created later this month! In the meantime, I’m excited to see what you’re creating with the fabulous June kit and add-ons. Happy creating, my friends. I’ll see you in a few days here on the Elle’s Studio blog!
