Hi friends! It’s Michelle, and I’m so happy to be back on the blog today sharing a layout using the incredibly beautiful April 2022 kit and add-ons. We still had snow in March, and this release really gave me all the spring feels! When this new season rolls around, I find myself having less time than I had in the winter to work on my memory keeping and the monthly kit is always so perfect in every way for filling my creative needs when I have limited time. If you can relate to this, stay with me as I’d love to show you how I created this layout below in just under an hour!
Supplies | April 2022 Kit, Flower Die Cuts, Flower Puffy Stickers
I batch-print my photos as often as I can, which is certainly more helpful during the busy spring and summer months. I had all of these photos printed except for one, so my next step was to select pocket tags that coordinated with my photos. I started with the leafy lush green pocket tag shown below from the April Kit. I chose that sweet daisy flower from the Flower Die Cuts and adhered it with dimensional backing. I wanted to bring in another pop of yellow, and I chose the bright yellow “happiness” puffy tab from the Flower Puffy Stickers for the top corner. I adhered a light green die cut from the April Kit to the bottom white space of the pocket tag and trimmed it to fit. I adore the “bloom and grow” die cut from the Flower Die Cuts as I related it to our grandson in this photo and it being his very first spring! I love how simple this pocket tag was to embellish and how it compliments the rest of the layout.
I don’t let much go to waste when it comes to my monthly kits and I decided to use the remaining piece of the light green die cut that I used for the pocket tag above for the top of this photo below. I adhered it with tiny staples and done!
I chose another pocket tag with the same pretty green color and decided to print one particular photo to fit into the middle space. While I still had my Flower Die Cuts and Flower Puffy Stickers out, I adhered the “amazing” puffy tab to the green die cut banner for the bottom corner photo. It took a few minutes to write up my journaling on the white pocket tag from the April Kit and couldn’t resist using that daisy sticker for the bottom corner.
For the final photo, I had quite a bit of green space which gave me a great opportunity to bring a bit of consistency to the rest of the layout by adding a yellow banner and another daisy from the Flower Die Cuts to finish it up. And that’s it! Just under an hour, and it felt so good, so good! Even with limited time, the process was so simple and so fun!
My biggest tips for planning creative time in your busy life are:
- Start with batch printing as often as you can
- The Elle’s Studio monthly kits are certainly the best and biggest key for bringing it all together so simply!
- Choose a few photos, a few pocket tags from the monthly kit, a few embellishments, add easy journaling, and enjoy the process, even if your time is limited!
I hope you found a little hope and even a bit of inspiration that you can still find productive and fun creative time in your busy life! You’ll be so glad you planned it!
