Hello, Elle’s Studio Friends! I hope you are as excited as I am about the September kit and extras. I love creating at this time of the year, but since it can get busy, a sketch always helps to get me inspired. Let’s check out the sketch I created with:
I used this sketch to create an autumnal spread in my traveler’s notebook album!
Supplies | September 2021 Kit, Autumn Die Cuts, Gray Cardstock Basic Shape Stickers, Wood Veneer Leaves, Thankful Paper Stack, Home Sewn Stitches Stamp, Autumn Puffy Hearts, Gold Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers, Banners Metal Die
I love the blocks on the sketch, as well as the clustering, and that is where I started with my design. To make it work in my traveler’s notebook, I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right and created blocks using tags from the September Kit and the Thankful Paper Stack. I picked bold, fall colors for this project and then created my own clusters inspired by the sketch using the September Kit die cuts, Home Sewn Stitches Stamp, and Wood Veneer Leaves.
I wanted both the main and the second photo to fit into the design. Having such a bold background color and using the Autumn Die Cuts and Wood Veneer Leaves, creating my photos in a circle didn’t overpower any of it, but flowed very well. I continued clustering inspired by the sketch, but this time added the Gray Cardstock Basic Shape Stickers to add my journaling. I just adhered these to a piece of paper to send through my typewriter and was able to peel them off to apply where I wanted them.
I really love the look of this 4 x 6 inch September Kit tag turned vertically. The Autumn Die Cuts and Wood Veneer Leaves really help with the vertical design and that photo being in a circle doesn’t take away from that design. For this cluster, I added the September Kit die cut, Home Sewn Stitches Stamp, Banners Metal Die, and Thankful Paper Stack.
This bottom block was created with the Thankful Paper Stack trimmed with Gray Cardstock Basic Shape Stickers, and Autumn Die Cuts, and Home Sewn Stitches Stamp layered on top. I sprinkled a few of the Gold Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers to create a triangle on my project.
The kit, extras, and the sketch did the work for me! I so enjoyed putting this together. I hope you are as inspired by the sketch as I was! Be sure to share what you create with it in our Facebook Group, or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag!
