XOXO Paper Stack Love with Suzanna Lee

Hiya Scrappy Peeps! It’s Suzanna here today! Have you seen the new paper stack release this month, the XOXO Paper Stack? Twelve designs, two of each design. There is a good mix of tone-on-tone, neutral and multi-colored designs to be found. I challenged myself to create a project using all twelve of the designs! Yup, you read that right, use all twelve on a layout. It was a challenge alright!

SUPPLIES: January 2021 KitJanuary Labels, True Love Stickers, Monthly Cardstock Stickers, Love You Chipboard Stickers, Dark Pink Puffy Alphabet StickersPuffy Heart Stickers, Navy Acetate Alphabet, XOXO 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper StackHugs and Kisses Stamp, Monthly and Daily Tabs Stamp (free for subscribers!), Everyday Tabs Metal Die

Succeed I did! I might have just eeked out the use of a few of them, like scraps from the black and white hearts, the back side of the flip tab in red, the “XO” but I count it as mission accomplished.

The highlight piece on this page features the eight multi-colored wide stripe design from the XOXO Paper Stack. A stitch sampler, of sorts, was created by handstitching tone-on-tone, a different stitch in the center of each wide stripe. With the multitude of colors used through out the page, I didn’t want to add much more or it would have become rather busy.

To the right of that design is a spot for hidden journaling created using three more of the patterns; the numbered lined design upon which to write, the multi-colored hearts as the flap and the back of the flip tab is a small taste of the red plaid pattern. I have handwritten my journaling in this spot but did so post photography—it’s rather personal and not something I want to share publicly. In essence, my One Little Word for 2021 is PROGRESS. Derived from the phrase “Progress over Perfection,” the title of my layout and the mantra that I will use to motivate me; inspire me through 2021.

Two more designs are used in the title of the layout, housed in a cluster of goodies from the January 2021 kit and add-ons. Completing the title are the Dark Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers. It’s very busy in this corner with a collection of color, texture and pattern, yet it’s balanced by the diagonal to the left by the multi colored stripe design on the angle and the multi colored hearts to the diagonal, right. I also managed to sneak in a teeny, tiny bit of the multi phrase design by cutting out “hey beautiful” and using that as a phrase sticker. Cheat? Maybe, but I’m counting it, as this page really didn’t need anything else.

Wrapping the page up, incorporating the final two designs, is the right corner of the layout. Just a bit of each design to house the Navy Acetate Alphabet numbers 2021 for the year. By adding the January Monthly Cardstock Sticker, I am implying this as a new beginning, my new attitude for the new year.

It is a bright and colorful page, especially for me. If you know my work you know that I tend to choose 3 or 4 colors that coordinate with my photo and work within that color palette, not straying far. This has at least 10 colors with lots of different designs through out the layout, thanks to the multitude of designs in the XOXO Paper Stack. And yet, it works! The columns help delineate and define each design of the paper stack. What do you think?

I do have a process video that will be up on my YouTube channel should you want to watch how everything came together.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Are you up for the challenge? Do you think you can use all 12 designs on a single project? I challenge you!
