Holiday Memories with the December Kit and Melissa Mann

Happy New Year! This is Melissa here with you today and I’m excited about returning back with Elle’s Studio for another year of fun! Today I’m sharing a new project with you using the leftover pieces from my December 2020 Kit and add-ons—I love stash-busting all of these bits and pieces before my new kit arrives!

I’m changing up the medium I’m using this year for my weekly album spreads and using an album without page protectors. It has an old-school feel where we used to just glue pictures down to paper in an album so many years ago and I really enjoy this process! I felt like it really lifted the constraint of “working” in the small boxes of the page protectors. I knew I wanted to use the large picture of my niece as a full page photo. I adhered this photo to the right side of my spread and used one of my favorite techniques for the left side: the grid!

I used four 3″ x 4″ journaling tags from the December 2020 Kit for my grid; one to house my journaling that I typed in and the other three tags as little “homes” for further embellishments such as the Comfort and Joy Stickers and the Joyful Chipboard Stickers. I also used my sewing machine to add a little texture to these tags.

I also embellished the large picture on the right hand side. I used up my last few Stitched Stars Wood Veneer. To create my title added the chipboard title “TWINKLE” using the Joyful Chipboard Stickers and then my niece’s name with the white Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers

I loved the big impact of the large photo and the freedom of being able to place any of my tags, embellishments, and patterned paper wherever I wanted!

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you share how you are using up the last pieces of your December 2020 Kit in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group!
