With Father’s Day quickly approaching on June 21st, you may be searching for the perfect gift for dad. What could be more special than reminding him of special memories that you have shared together? Today, Candace Perkins is here to show us how she’s giving her husband a special mini book that records their family hikes, and we know you’ll love how she used our latest products to create it, simply and beautifully! Let’s take a look:
Hello friends! It’s Candace here with you to share a fun mini book I created for Father’s Day! I wanted to create something special to give my husband to remember and celebrate all the fun family hikes we have taken over the years. Using the May monthly kit and extras I was able to create a get all the photos and memories decorated and documented in this cute mini.
I started the mini book by using the Typewritter Alphabet Stamp to add the title on the side of the cover to create a bit more interest than stamping straight on. I added a cute tree icon from the Currently Icon Stamp and tied the mini together with a bit of green twine.
I wanted to have a title page and a place where each one of my boys could write a note to their dad and tell him how special the hikes are to them. After the title page, the notes from each of the boys and I followed tucked on little velum envelopes.
Next, I got to play and started pasting photos and embellishments in various positions and pages similar to the style of a junk journal. I used lots of fun stickers and stamps to add sentiments and notes on cards and photos.
Such a fun and simple mini filled with lots of memories and love! It is fun to gather all my Elle’s Studio goodies and just create and document special moments and memories. I can’t wait to give this sweet mini to my husband and to have these memories to cherish for years to come!
What goodies can you gather to create a mini book? Any theme or style mini book would work and I would love to see what you come up with!
Capture your memories and document them with love.
