We’re excited to welcome our February guest designer, Marsha Farris back to the blog today! Marsha is here to show us that a favorite photo and a few carefully placed products can create an all-star traveler’s notebook spread! Let’s take a look:
Hello everyone! I am back again today sharing a traveler’s notebook layout that I created using the February monthly kit and add-ons. With two active kids at home, sports are a big part of my life. I decided to document a photo of my son taken last year during a baseball all-star tournament. I love this photo and thought it would work perfectly with the colors in the February kit.
Supplies | February 2019 Kit, Bright Die Cut Labels, Real Life Phrase Stickers, Puffy Icon Stickers, Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Puffy Heart Stickers – Spring Mix, All My Heart 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Oh Happy Day Stamp, Mini Dated Stamp
To start my layout, I trimmed two of the papers from the All My Heart 6 x 6 Paper Stack into strips of varying widths, and I adhered them to the page, alternating two patterns. I love this technique of creating my own striped patterned paper! Next, I made several embellishment clusters on the page using labels, die cuts, puffy stickers, and stamps from the February kit and extras.
For the other side of the layout, I trimmed the photo, adhered it to the page and stapled a die cut heart from the February Kit to the photo. I stamped the date onto a Bright Die Cut Label using the Mini Dated Stamp and tucked it behind the photo. I also stamped the circle image from the Oh Happy Day Stamp using light gray ink, and layered a Puffy Icon Stickers over it.
For my title, I stamped the journaling lines on the Oh Happy Day Stamp using light gray ink. I then added the Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers to spell out my title. I like this little detail the stamping adds and how it helps to ground the title.
This layout came together so quickly and easily using the bright and fun February Kit and extras! Thank you for stopping by today!
Hello! I’m Marsha Farris, and I live in Alabama with my wonderful husband and our two sons, ages 15 and 9. I love photography, documenting my stories, and sharing my projects. I also enjoy reading, knitting, and helping my family on our farm. I began scrapbooking many years ago while expecting my oldest son and have continued to do some form of memory keeping since then. I scrapped 12 x 12 layouts and pocket pages for many years, but am now focusing on creating in smaller formats. Traveler’s notebooks are my current obsession. I even dream about what my next TN layout will be! You can find my projects on Instagram and my blog. I am so honored to be an Elle’s Studio guest designer!
Stop in next week to see Marsha’s final post with us using the February kit and add-ons! Until then, be sure to follow her Instagram feed for some amazing traveler’s notebook spreads, and her blog, Hey Marsha Makes.
