Love You Guys with Guest Designer Heba Alsibai

In case you missed it, our January guest designer, Heba Alsibai, had fun creating with our January Kit and add-ons in her traveler’s notebook last week! Today she’s with us to share a new TN layout of a fun and energetic moment, and she used the perfect products to document it! Let’s take a look:

Hello everyone! Today I want to share a traveler’s notebook layout that I created using the beautiful January Kit and add-ons from Elle Studio. Every year, since my son been in high school, he goes to homecoming with all his marching band friends. I always take the opportunity to snap some photos of him and his friends before the party starts. This picture on my layout today was one of my favorites! I love how it captures their fun and light personalities.

Supplies | January 2019 KitJanuary Labels, So Loved Shipping Tags, Happiness Found StickersJane Alphabet Stickers – Black, Sweetheart Puffy Stickers, Wood Veneer Hearts, Happy Heart Stamp, All My Heart 6 x 6 Paper Stack

To start my layout, I trimmed my picture so it would sit nicely between the fold of my TN. Then used some of the patterns from the All My Heart 6 x 6 Paper Stack to layer under my picture. I also used three of the So Loved Shipping Tags to add journaling and more depth to my layout. I love the way the photo really pops against the black and white tags.

For my title, I used the Sweetheart Puffy Stickers to add the “heart you” sticker, then I added the black Jane Alphabet Stickers to finish the title with “guys.” This added a pop of color to my spread, which otherwise would have been a B&W layout. Then I used the heart banner from the Sweetheart Puffy Stickers across the left side,  just to add more puffiness and cuteness to this already cute picture of my son and his friends.

Next, I added the January Labels across and under my picture. I tried to include labels with the same colors from my title, to ensure that it looked balanced. I love the detail that the labels add to the page!

To finish the layout, I added some Wood Veneer Hearts and stamped a few more using the Happy Heart Stamp on the opposite side, just to balance everything out. I really love how fast and easy this spread came together using the beautiful new releases.

Thank you so much for joining me here today. I hope that I’ve given you some inspiration to use your new kit and embellishments!

Hello everyone! My name is Heba Alsibai, I’m a mother of two teenagers and a wife to a wonderful husband. My husband and I own a small medical supply company that keeps my husband traveling and me working from home. I love that I’m able to work from home, I get to see my kids go off to school and welcome them home when they get back. I live in the beautiful state of Georgia far from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. I am a total homebody that loves to read and loves to watch reruns of Friends. But by far my favorite thing to do is crafting. I also love sharing my crafty projects on my YouTube channel and Instagram.

Back in 2001 When I gave birth to my first born, I started keeping a little scrapbook album for him. It wasn’t your traditional scrapbook album. It was more of journaling milestones and documenting pictures with dates. I also did the same with my daughter once she was born. But in 2007 I moved to Dubai and became friends with my next-door neighbor who was an avid scrapbooker. Once she shared her beautiful scrapbooking layouts with me, I was hooked.

My crafting journey started with creating traditional scrapbooking layout. But in 2011 I discovered pocket pages and completely switch to pocket page memory keeping. Documenting our daily stories in pockets became something that I enjoyed because of the ease and simplicity of it.

But in 2016 I found traveler’s notebooks and I was so excited to be able to be creative outside the pocket again. I didn’t know how much I missed creating layouts until I found traveler’s notebooks. What I love the most about these notebooks is the size. They are small, so you never feel overwhelmed or intimidated by the size. Not like a traditional scrapbooking layouts. You can create a spread in no time at all. Some of my favorite memories were done in a traveler’s notebook.

With that said, no matter what format I use, as long as I’m crafting I’m happy :). I’m excited to share some of my layouts with you, using the Elle Studio January kit and embellishments!

We can’t wait to see what Heba will share with us next week! Until then, please follow her beautiful work on her YouTube feed and on Instagram.
