Quick Holiday Cards with Nathalie Leonelli

A handmade card is a great thing to send when you want someone to know that you’re wishing them the best, but we don’t always have time to craft an intricate card design, do we? Today design team member Nathalie Leonelli is here to help us! She’s sharing two simple and perfect card designs using our December kit and extras that will make creating those cards quick and easy! Let’s take a look:

I really enjoy making cards, but during this time of year nobody has the time to go through their supplies, or the time to come up with a design. I am here to share two pretty cards that you can give or mail for the holidays just by using the December kit and a few extras available this month. No digging required!

Supplies | December 2018 kit, Acrylic Christmas Trees, Everyday Puffy Labels, Merry and Bright 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Stanley Number stamp (sold out)

I chose two patterned papers from the Merry and Bright Paper Stack to use as my first layer on both cards and picked two tags from the December 2018 kit to go on top. Here is a closer look at the first card:

I embellished the blue tag from the kit with one of the Acrylic Christmas Trees, a couple of die-cuts also from the kit and a puffy sticker which was perfect as a sentiment (from the new Everyday Puffy Labels). As a last touch, I added a few machine stitches to accentuate the yellow and add texture. I love the depth that the transparency of the acrylic tree brings!

For this second card, I stamped and hand-cut numbers, but also punched half circles from one of the tags in the kit:

After adhering my blue base, I placed the punched half circles on the edges and added some hand stitches with matching embroidery floss (totally optional if you’re in a hurry!). I put gold washi on the top and bottom edges before adhering the “Hello New Year” tag with foam squares for extra dimension. I embellished with some small acrylic stars that come in the Acrylic Christmas Trees pack. To finish, I added a tab (from the kit) tucked under the tag on which I typed “Best wishes!”. I like how festive this card turned out!

I am so glad I have those cards ready to go now and I hope to have inspired you to create some with our new December kit and extras (which could be used to make more of course!)

Since this is my last post for the year, I would like to wish you a wonderful Christmas, if you celebrate, and to virtually send you all my best wishes for the New Year! May 2019 be your craftiest year ever!
