Use Your Scraps with Tracey Fox

With a new, exclusive kit releasing tomorrow, now is the time to use up your June Kit before your next box hits your doorstep! Tracey Fox is sharing a brand new layout below, and we know you’ll love how she made use of her die cut sheets to create something fun and new! Let’s see what she created:

Hi everyone! Today, I’m sharing a layout I made using just the leftover bits from my June 2018 Kit. I had already made three other layouts using the kit, but rather than file the kit’s leftovers away into my stash, I was excited to accept the challenge to see if I could make another page using just the kit and extras. This involved getting creative with my scraps!

I love the die cut sheets that come in every monthly kit, but I had already used up nearly all of the die cuts by the time I got to this page. To stretch the die cut sheets even further and create more embellishments for my page, I grabbed my precision scissors and fussy cut out the colorful frames around the punched-out cuts. I arranged and adhered these on a black cardstock background, and I just love the contrast and how the colors pop on the page!

I filled in the arrangement of these bits with the few die cuts I did have left and some hearts punched from the patterns of the remaining tags in the kit. Since the die cut that said “summer” didn’t work for the subject of my layout, I turned it over and stamped on the white side using the Hazel Alphabet Stamp. I added my journaling to the white area on the rainbow 4″ x 6″ tag from the kit, cut it out, and adhered it to the top of the page. I then paired the rainbow portion of the tag with another 3″ x 4″ tag to create a mat for one of my photos.

For my other photo, I happened to have one of the Summer Wood Veneer Frames left. The words that were on it didn’t work for this layout, so I turned it over, painted it white, and glued the Shine Acrylic to it. I was so glad I still had the word “you” left from my well-used sheet of the Hello Happy Puffy Words, so I was able to complete the title “you shine.”

The Elle’s Studio monthly kits and extras are so versatile that I highly recommend becoming a monthly subscriber! It’s so fun to get playful with the current month’s kit and to try to use up every bit before the next one arrives! Thanks for stopping by today. I can’t wait to see how you use your scraps.
