Journaling Three Ways with Jess Forster

We all need a little help getting the important details of our memories recorded—and we all love using our monthly kit contents to do just that! Today, journaling guru, Jess Forster, is sharing three different ways to document your special moments on Elle’s Studio journaling tags! Let’s take a look:

Does the thought of writing or journaling in your pocket page layouts overwhelm you? Are you afraid of missing ALL of the details, that you don’t include ANY of the details? Today, I am sharing how Elle’s journaling cards from the May 2018 Kit are easily customizable to include a variety of your life stories, both big and small formats!

In this double page 9″ x 12″ monthly spread, I have enlarged the 6″ x 8″ photo of my kids playing with our dog Charlie at the beach by the water. The colorful arrow journaling tag from the May Kit, helped to record those small details that I am likely to forget in the years to come. Bullet point journaling for the win! Simple sentences can be your friend, as every picture doesn’t need a written paragraph.

However, if you like stringing together sentences, than consider including a synopsis from the week or month. Here, I used a 3″ x 4″ rainbow colour tag from the May Hello Good Times Printables and simply typed up some of the events or highlights that happened in the white space provided. Your summary doesn’t have to include every single detail; instead, give a flavor for what we were doing over the course of the specific time period you are documenting! Something is better than nothing.

Lastly, if you enjoy very precise facts in your pages, then consider documenting funny conversations you have said or overheard. Using the “That’s my story and I am sticking to it” journaling tag from the May Kit, I included five facts & feeling statements that my daughter made in the month of April. Although I forget when she said these, I can hear the tone in her voice when I read them. Include details that will trigger the memory of that person.
