A Favorite Adventure Documented with Guest Laureen Wagener

Hi friends and welcome back to a new post from me, Laureen! I am really happy to be back on the blog to share yet another project I made as a guest designer with you!

Todays project is a fun one! I love using large photos on my layouts and then embellishing along the top and/or bottom of the photo.

I decided to also use that design idea for this project to showcase all the different beautiful embellishments in the Noteworthy collection and the April 2018 Kit and add-ons.

My printer only prints up to A4 pages, so I printed a picture from a trip to Paris walking along the Seine, having an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower and used the embellishments to really emphasize my picture.

Supplies | April 2018 Kit, Vellum Sentiments, Adventure Acrylic, Noteworthy Word Labels, Noteworthy Bits and Pieces, Noteworthy Wood Veneers, Noteworthy Puffy Stickers

I began by laying down all the pieces I’d like to use. I love the Vellum Sentiments and needed to use them in one way or another, same as the Noteworthy Puffy Stickers and the Adventure Acrylic, which found its way onto my page as part of my title. It wouldn’t stay adhered to my page, so I stitched it down by wrapping some thread around a couple letters to hold it
in place. I also used the “favorite” Noteworthy Puffy Sticker and built my title by overlapping the two embellishments.

I continued layering up my embellishments to not only use as many as possible, but to also hide my photo edges. This is a great way of creating an interesting and eyecatching design.

Aren’t those Vellum Sentiments so much fun?! They look beautiful on the page and I love how the colors pop off of the white cardstock. To hide my glue I used to adhere the circle, I added a couple of different embellishments around or on top of the vellum piece. This is also a great way to build up some little clusters that catch the eye and to add layers, which also adds more dimension and different textures!

Have you ever worked with large pictures like this? If yes, how do you like to set up your page? If not, would you give it a go? I’d love to see your take on full page photos!

Have a great day and happy crafting!

My name is Laureen, I am in my early twenties and from beautiful Germany. I am in school to become a physical therapist and besides all that studying and waiting for my train to take me home, I like to get crafty! I discovered scrapbooking in 2013 and immediatly fell in love with it! Due to a lack of time, I needed to stop, but rediscovered the beauty of it in 2016 while going through chemo as a treatment to beat my cancer. It helped distract me from all the bad things and pain and brought back so much joy! Now I can’t stop and am loving all the memories I have in albums!

My favorite things are enamel dots, because they are like little sugary treats you sprinkle around your page, spray mists and unique embellishments such as wooden pieces or acrylic embellishments. My all time favorite color is yellow and whenever I get a piece of yellow paper or embellishment it will for sure end up on my project!
