A Day Documented with April Guest Designer Laureen Wagener

It’s a new month, and today we introduce a new guest designer: Laureen Wagener!  We are so excited to have her colorful and detailed creations featured here on the blog, using our newest products! Her lovely and positive personality shines through on her projects, and we know that you will be SO inspired by what she has to share with us this month. Let’s take a look at her first project:

Hi Elle’s Studio friends! My name is Laureen Wagener and I am beyond excited to be the guest designer for this month! I can’t wait to share the excitement and projects I created with you!

One thing I love about Elle’s Studio is not only their great quality and uniqueness to their products, I also love how they mix and match! The monthly kits match the current collections in such a good way—it was easy peasy to create three layouts to share with you throughout the month using all the amazing goodies!

Today I get to share my first layout with you. I used the April 2018 Kit and add-ons along with the beautiful new Noteworthy collection. This collection does not disappoint— the colors, the papers, the patterns and the embellishments are so good!

I was scrolling through my pictures on my laptop and discovered that I still had a bunch of pictures from my “day in the life” 2017 project that I hadn’t scrapped. I decided to make that my first project and printed out eight pictures at 3″ x 4″. I grabbed a circle punch, punched all my pictures out and started the fun!

Circle dies were one of the main component of this page. I used the papers from the Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack and cut them out and then just added my photo on top.

The entire idea for this page came to mind when I was looking through all the embellishments and found the Currently Wood Veneer Tabs with action words on them like reading and eating. I wanted one picture to compliment each tab and the circle grid idea was born.

Since there are only eight tabs with words I decided to leave a little space right in the center of my page and place my title there. I used the Yellow Puffy Alphabet Stickers, which I ADORE, and created my title. Above, I added the date using the new Mini Dated Stamp onto a die-cut, multi-colored banner from the April 2018 Kit.

Embellishing this page was fairly easy. I used the color-on-color technique, adding Noteworthy Puffy Stickers and Noteworthy Epoxy Stickers for an easy, yet eye-catching design!

As a finishing touch I sprinkled some spray mists here and there and called it done!

Thank you for tuning in today, reading along and letting me share my work with you!
I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did. I will be back soon sharing a new project with you!

My name is Laureen, I am in my early twenties and from beautiful Germany. I am in school to become a physical therapist and besides all that studying and waiting for my train to take me home, I like to get crafty! I discovered scrapbooking in 2013 and immediatly fell in love with it! Due to a lack of time, I needed to stop, but rediscovered the beauty of it in 2016 while going through chemo as a treatment to beat my cancer. It helped distract me from all the bad things and pain and brought back so much joy! Now I can’t stop and am loving all the memories I have in albums!

My favorite things are enamel dots, because they are like little sugary treats you sprinkle around your page, spray mists and unique embellishments such as wooden pieces or acrylic embellishments. My all time favorite color is yellow and whenever I get a piece of yellow paper or embellishment it will for sure end up on my project!
