Die Cut Love with January Guest Adrienne Alvis

We are so excited to welcome our first guest for 2018, the talented Adrienne Alvis to the Elle’s Studio blog! We always love her use of color, along with the perfect mix of embellishment. Let’s see what she created with the January Kit + extras to share with us today!

Hello! My name is Adrienne Alvis. I’m so excited to be a guest here at Elle’s Studio and share my work with all of you! I was really inspired by the awesome sentiment die cut from the Love You Die Cuts and created my entire page design around it!

Supplies | January Kit, Love You Die Cuts, Hugs and Kisses Puffy Stickers, Star Chipboard Stickers, Hand Drawn Acrylic Hearts, XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack

I used a piece of kraft cardstock for my background paper and placed the “I Love You More Than All The Stars In The Sky” die cut next to the photo of my husband and I, which I layered on top of the striped patterned paper from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack.

Next, I visually balanced out my design by using two more patterned paper pieces from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack and cut them to fill in the white space under my photo and the sentiment die cut piece. Since I love to layer and create embellishment clusters, I utilized the space on the patterned paper pieces under my photo for just that.

I placed several die cut and Hand Drawn Acrylic Hearts and tags from the Love You Die Cut on the patterned paper squares and I also used some of the leftover pieces from the striped patterned paper that I layered under my photo to create a pocket to house my journaling card, which I sewed onto the page.

I simply placed the piece of patterned paper onto my page and used my sewing machine to stitch around three sides of it to create a little pocket. This is a great way to add texture to your page while hiding some of your private journaling!

I also included several of the Star Chipboard and Hugs and Kisses Puffy Stickers to add some dimension and color pop to my design. I love how the softer colors from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack look paired with the pops of black and white!

I was born and raised in Southern Illinois and grew up around my family’s farm. My mother was always sewing, making crafts, and taking craft classes, but I didn’t discover my crafty side until after I had my youngest son, almost 11 years ago. I started creating traditional layouts, but soon found a love for making cards, mini albums, home decor projects, and pocket page albums. I am currently designing for Pinkfresh Studio and have been on many other design teams over the past few years. I’ve been married to my husband for almost 12 years now, and we have three beautiful and spirited kiddos, Garrison (15), Jubal (10), and Avery (8). Of course, my children are my main source of scrappy subject matter and I love how documenting their every move and milestone helps satisfy my creative urges. Other than paper-crafting, I have a full-time job as a LuLaRoe fashion consultant and in my spare time I like to read, run, watch movies in bed, listen to music, travel, and work on DIY home projects. You can find more of my projects on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and my blog, Paper Fab.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to leave Adrienne some love and stop by her social media accounts for more inspiration. You can see more of her projects, featuring the newest Elle’s Studio project, here on the blog next week!
