With Halloween just around the corner, have you decided how you’re going to document those candy-filled memories yet? Today, Neela Nalam is showing how she documented Halloween 2016 with a mix of product from the Elle’s Studio shop in a double-page spread. Let’s take a look!
My kids wait for most of the year for Halloween! It’s all about the candy. They love the costumes, but it’s mainly about the candy! Our neighborhood is super popular for trick or treaters and we have a lot of them come from surrounding neighborhoods, too. The kids have so much fun going around the neighborhood with their friends. This double pocket page spread records this story with the amazing Elle’s Studio products. The Halloween Puffy Stickers and the Halloween-themed journaling tags from the October 2017 Kit are so awesome and perfect for this spread. I paired the kit tags with the Happy Halloween Journaling Tags from the shop, which are on sale right now, so be sure to grab them! They are adorable!
Supplies | October 2017 Kit, Happy Halloween Journaling Tags, Halloween Puffy Stickers, Trick or Treat Wood Veneer
For the left side, I used a large 8-1/2″ x 11″ photo of my kids. Only on Halloween does a little transformer get a loving hug from a ghost face. I used a whole bunch of stars from the Halloween Puffy Stickers to add to the negative space, along with my title—Happy Halloween from the puffy stickers. The Trick or Treat Wood Veneer was perfect to add to the photo, too!
For the right side, I used a pocket page with 3″ x 4″ journaling tags and photos. I embellished the tags with candies and dots from the Halloween Puffy Stickers and added the wood veneer stars from the Trick or Treat Wood Veneer to bring the wood to the right side of the spread, too. I love all of the black in the tags. It goes so well with the photos. I placed the black cards in such a way that the black is balanced across the page—from the bottom left to the top right! I also used the October 31 phrase from the Halloween Puffy Stickers.
I love how this spread turned out. The focus is the large photo on the left and the journaling tags on the right are perfect to get my story told. I hope you get your fix of Halloween products from the Elle’s Studio shop, as they are perfect for recording these memorable Halloween moments!
