Every month brings new product to the Elle’s Studio shop, and this month, we’re loving the new Wood Veneer Pocket Fillers! Today we have Jamie Leija, Jill Sprott and Laura Hager sharing how they used these fun 3″ x 4″ wood veneer pieces on their projects. Lets see what they created.

Jamie | The Wood Veneer Pocket Fillers with their cut-outs are just begging to be layered! I used four 3″ x 4″ journaling cards from the August Kit to create the central part of this card. With all of the colors and patterns, I went light on the embellishing; adding only a puffy sticker and two die cuts. For the card base, I used the Stanley Number Stamp to add a graphic black and white pattern. I love the outline option!

Jill | Although the Wood Veneer Pocket Fillers are ideal for pocket pages, they can also serve as bold accents on a layout. Rather than use the card and its die-cut center piece on separate projects, I featured them both on this page, first painting the heart and then giving it a boost by backing it with foam tabs. The card also makes a great home for a title, as I discovered in stamping the page title on the space above and below the heart on the card. The border around the journaling, photo, and title block builds on the heart motif, gathering together an assortment of acrylic, stamped, and sticker hearts.

Laura | The Wood Veneer Pocket Fillers are one of my favorite products from the August products. I wanted to use the cut out of the heart to hold some details and act as a header for my description of the day. I thought about having a photo peek though, but I decided to add text. I used a typewriter to add a title to a label and stapled it with my tiny attacher. The Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers are so fun. I added a “K” and a Puffy Heart Sticker to make the middle of the pocket filler pop! To tie in the wood into the rest of the layout, I added the “HIKE” Fun Outdoors Wood Veneer Words to the top photo. It was used to add the word with my tiny attacher. I kept with the heart theme by adding several Puffy Heart Stickers.
Stamping is my favorite scrapbooking technique, so I made sure to use a lot of different stamp sets. My favorite for this layout was the Hello Sunshine Stamp. The Instagram-themed stamps were perfect!
I love how this layout turned out! The natural color of the wood matched so well with my desert pictures. It was a perfect way to document a special day.
