A Tranquil Pocket Page Layout with Laura Hager

Our new May 2017 Kit features so many amazing colors, but with a predominance of blue and green, it was perfect for Laura’s pocket page spread, documenting a trip to a garden. We LOVE how she created a custom filler tag using our new Today Stamp, and we know it will inspire you! Let’s take a look at what she created.

Hey there! It’s Laura here again! I love all things creative! I love listening to podcasts and audiobooks about creativity. I love watching YouTube videos about it. But what I love most is talking to friends about their creativity and what is inspiring them. I started a Facebook group a few months ago and we meet up to do crafts, field trips, and go out to eat and talk about creativity. It’s the best! I made this layout to document our most recent outing to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ.

Supplies | May 2017 Kit, Adventure Sticker Labels, Bike Ride Stamp, Today Stamp, Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper StackLetter and Number Stickers – White

I was my first time to the DBG and it was amazing! I knew I wanted to include multiple photos to show off all the pretty plants we saw. I wanted to keep the main color of the page green, so I pulled out some fun journaling tags from the May 2017 Kit. I cut down a 6″ x 6″ patterned paper from the Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack for my title card, then I just added white alphabet stickers to create my title. I love the contrast of the white on the green.

The little die cuts in the monthly kits are some of my favorite things to use. There are so many to choose from and they are small enough to add over photos or journaling tags. I used several of the die cuts from the May 2017 Kit to embellish my photos. As always, I used my tiny stapler to attach the embellishments. I also used the “We Were Here” sticker from the Adventure Sticker Labels.

For the bottom filler tag, I stamped “Sunday” from the Today Stamp in a repeating pattern. To create a level pattern, I chose a different letter to start the next line. So after I stamped the top line, I started the next line on the “D’s” in Sunday. I continued until the whole card was filled up. Then I stamped “weekend” and “adventure” from the Bike Ride Stamp onto cardstock, cut them out, and stapled them to the card.

This layout is simple, but I love how it captured the peaceful day of walking around the garden. It was such a beautiful day with such amazing friends. What will you be documenting with your May Kit? Be sure to share your creations on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio!
