Using Smaller Patterns with Melissa Mann

Are you a 12″ x 12″ scrapbooker and have no clue what to do with the 6″ x 6″ paper stacks that are available with our collections? Today, Melissa Mann is sharing a perfect project to put those smaller patterns to work, and we know you will be inspired! Let’s take a look.

Good Morning, you guys! It’s spring time here on the Gulf Coast of Florida and the new paper collection, “Live Laugh Love,” by Elle’s Studio is a fabulous choice for capturing all those spring time memories. I plan on capturing some photos of the new garden my husband is installing in our front yard this spring, but in the meantime, I created this layout using a picture of my hubby from a lunch date we had at Texas Roadhouse last November.

I ALWAYS forget about the cute 6″ x 6″ paper stacks that are available with each collection. This time, I was determined to put it to good use and used it exclusively for this layout! The smaller designs on the 6″ x 6″ sheets of paper are a good fit when punching out small designs such as the circles that travel the length of my layout.

I punched out a variety of 1″ and 1-1/2″ circles from the 6″ x 6″ paper stack and placed them down the length of my layout in a slight diagonal line- some were cut in half and placed on the edges, and some were placed on top of other circles using foam dots. I wanted the appearance that the circles were breaking through the white card stock.

I used one of the Live Laugh Love 3″ x 4″ journaling tags for my typed journaling. I typed on the bottom half, and then cut the top part of the card and placed it on the opposite side underneath my picture.

I can’t wait to see what you create with the new “Live Laugh Love” collection, which will be available in the ES shop on April 10th, along with our April kit reveal! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
