Birthday Goodies with Maggie Massey

We’re all guilty of procrastinating once in a while, right? With the release of the new Happy Birthday mini collection, however, we can check birthday cards, documenting and now, as Maggie Massey shows us below, cute birthday gift wrap off of our list of to-do’s using these supplies! Done and done! Let’s see what she created.

Hello, hello everyone! It’s Maggie here with a look at some ways to use Elle’s brand new Happy Birthday mini collection!

My daughter is turning 14 next month! I know it sounds ridiculously cliché, but time goes so fast! I decided to get a jump on her gifts this year, because I am, admittedly, a procrastinator, and special dates always seem to sneak up on me. So I was so excited for the release of the Happy Birthday mini collection. It was just what I needed to get me moving in the right direction- ahead of schedule!

For the past few years, Kinsley has decided to skip having a party in exchange for spending the day in downtown Chicago; shopping, eating, shopping & SHOPPING! This year will be the same, which is great for me, because I don’t have to worry about getting all of her birthday shopping ahead of time, but I still like to have a few little things for her to open on the morning of her big day.

I decided to make little treat bags using some of Elle’s patterned paper from the Little Moments 12×12 Paper Collection, and then I dressed up the bags using items from the Happy Birthday mini collection.

The journaling tags worked perfectly as tags for my bags. All I did for these was trim them down a bit, add a few embellishments, like the Teal Puffy Alphabet Stickers, punch a hole in the top and add some baker’s twine.

The large wood veneer numbers are perfect tucked behind a length of twine! I didn’t adhere these to the bag, as I wanted to make sure I could grab them to use later on her birthday layout.

I really love the Happy Birthday Stamp, and it was so easy to use it to create some birthday cards!

For this card, I simply stamped out 13 candles and added the 14th using a candle sticker from the Happy Birthday Stickers.

For this card I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and added some balloons and stamped sparkles. Easy peasy!

I love using stamp sets to create cards. It makes it so easy to switch from feminine to masculine cards just by using different ink colors.

I can’t tell you just how happy I am that I have all of this done already! Maybe this year I won’t be up until midnight the night before her birthday trying to scramble to get things decorated and wrapped!
