A Happy Layout with Allie Stewart

Allie Stewart is with us today, sharing a beautiful, colorful layout that we just love! Check out how she used the So Happy Wood Veneer as her title, and manipulated the January 2017 Digital Cut File to create a lovely border of hearts. Read below to see how she created this layout and be inspired!

Hello friends! Today I’m excited to be sharing a page using the February Exclusive Kit, as well as some of the fun extras released this month. I was particularly inspired by one of the journaling cards in the kit. I loved the various sized hearts stacked on one side, and decided to replicate the look on my page.

I started by tracing hearts from the January 2017 Digital Cut File in Silhouette Studio, and arranging them on the side of the page. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I cut it from white cardstock using my Cameo. I backed each heart using a mix of February journaling cards, and the Little Moments 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack.

Next, I used the packaging technique with purple and pink mist to add a little flair to the background. I matted my photo onto gray paper, and glued it down so that the edges of the mist design peeked out. The So Happy Wood Veneer is adorable, and was perfect for a title about my husband and pup! With my photo and title added, it was time to embellish! I added words and phrases above and below my photo using the Little Moments cut apart patterned paper and the Speech Bubble stickers. I love the Date Stickers, and wanted to use them on this page. I created a pennant banner using the flag stickers with twine! I draped it underneath my photo and title to help draw attention to them. Finally, I finished the page off with acrylic and puffy hearts. You can never have too many hearts!!

I had a lot of fun creating this layout to share with you. I never cease to be inspired by the monthly kits, and I love how the journaling cards always inspire my layouts!
