Merry Christmas Layout by Allie Stewart

Hello there! I often see quote cut files on the internet that are typically intended for use with vinyl. I love words and phrases, and can never stop myself from buying them! Unfortunately, they don’t get much use on my scrapbook layouts, so I decided to challenge myself to use one on a page.

ellesstudio_alliestewart-christmas01Products used: ‘Tis the Season 6×6 Pad, ‘Tis the Season Wood Veneer, ‘Tis the Season Washi Sheets, Acrylic Christmas Trees, ‘Tis the Season Frosted Acrylic Shapes, and ‘Tis the Season Puffy Stickers.

For this layout, I enlarged the quote in Silhouette Studio so it took up most of the page. Once I cut it out, I backed each word with a different pattern from the ‘Tis the Season collection. Once I backed the snowflakes, I adhered each snowflake to where it was cut from so it looked like it had a bit of a colored shadow.

The quote took up so much space, that I needed to do very little embellishing. I added a small photo near the top, and a few acrylic shapes and wood veneers in white spaces. Quick tip: I’ve found that Scotch Quick Dry glue works FANTASTIC for gluing down acrylic pieces! It adheres quickly, drys clear, and will prevent the acrylic from falling off the page (like with some other adhesives). I finished the page with puffy sticker hearts and a stitched washi border! This page looks intricate, but went very quickly because the cut file did most of the work. If you don’t have a die cutting machine, you can still replicate this look with letter stickers or hand cut words!

I hope you feel inspired today, thank you for stopping by!
