Hi there, it’s Meghann and welcome to the Elle’s Studio blog today! When I finish using all of the cards from my exclusive kits, I usually have a few bits and pieces left over sitting on my desk. This month, I decided to combine a few of my July leftovers with the August exclusive kit to create a fun, colorful back to school card that any kid would love to find in their lunchbox on their first day.Supplies: “Weekend” printables, acrylic stars (a July exclusive, sold out), “Weekend” stamp, “Let’s Eat” collection paper pack (Best Ever grid paper), August exclusive kit
To start my card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to a folded A2 card size, 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”. On top of that, I layered the teal and blue 4”x6” card from the “Weekend” printables, trimmed to 4” x 5-1/4”, then the “Best Ever” grid paper, trimmed to 3-3/4” x 5”.
At the base of the grid paper, I stamped the “today is your day” sentiment from the “Weekend” stamp in black ink. Above that, on the left, I adhered the “let’s do this” tag from the August kit with dimensional adhesive & topped it with blue baker’s twine.
To the right of my tag, I added a chipboard stack of books that I found in my stash. On top of that, I stamped a globe stand in black, then adhered my ‘back to school’ tag inside, so that it looked like a globe. Tip: No globe stamp? No problem! This globe stand would be super easy to draw yourself with a black pen if you don’t have a stamp. Just adhere the tag first, then draw the stand around it.
To connect the tag on the left with my stack of books on the right, I adhered a punched pinked circle from the “Weekend” printables, on which I stamped the “yay” sentiment from the “Weekend” stamp.
To finish off my card, I adhered the “first day” tag in between my layers at the top right and embellished with three acrylic hearts and two yellow stickers, to make a visual triangle with the top of my “let’s do this” tag.
I love that I can combine my kits to make special projects like this card, and reduce my leftover product sitting around my desk! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to add your projects, using our exclusive kits, to the member gallery!
