Focus on Journaling with Jill Sprott

EllesStudio-Journaling-Jill1Today Jill Sprott is sharing with us this beautiful layout she created and how she uses our journaling tags as prompts! Jill says “For me, “Elle’s Studio” is synonymous with colorful and versatile tags, which are in no short supply in the February 2015 kit. Among those tags is one that I find particularly inspirational. It reads, “Stay true to you & you will end up incredibly happy!” This sentiment brings to mind my daughter, who, as a senior in the throes of college application season, is on a quest for future happiness, but must first take on the trials of writing essay after essay (after essay). I created a page that incorporates the tag while also featuring an equally inspiring excerpt from one of my daughter’s college essays. ”

“I filled three additional tags with her words about the relationship between passion and purpose, which she talks about in terms of “here”  and “there.”  This influenced not just what I circled in the journaling, but also how I formed the title of this page, crafted from red letter stickers and a series of labels from the February kit.”

EllesStudio-Journaling-Jill2“The wood veneer shapes also reinforce her message, since she was trying to “stay true” in speaking from the heart (hence the wooden heart), she was clarifying her sense of direction in life (hence the arrow), and she was sharing the key to finding her purpose (hence the key). So many of the parts and pieces of the page link back to the quote on the tag that started it all. ”
