Project Life Cover Pages

Today we are excited to share with you three different types of Project Life cover pages! Jennifer, Megan, and Jenni each start a new album for the new year, and for the first opening page they have put together a cover page that shows a quick summary of their family and more! Let’s take a peek:

ES-JenChaplin01Jennifer Chapin says “I was really excited to use the Hello 2015 collection for my 2015 PL cover page! I recently discovered these 12×2 page protectors from Kaisercraft that hold 12 3×4 cards and knew I wanted to use it for the title page. I printed off 4 photos of our family in 3×4 with white borders and added these to the center row of pockets. I pulled cards from the Hello 2015 collection along with Sycamore lane, as well as using my typewriter, stamps and cork embellishments. I love the way it turned out and it’s so bright and colorful!”

“This year I am planning on doing my PL in 12×12 format, however I still do like to use the 6×8 albums on occasion. To satisfy that need, my plan is to keep separate smaller albums for specific themes. I have this idea that I am going to do a 6×8 album of PL just for me, sort of like a journal. So we will see how that turns out! Overall, I am going to keep my PL low stress. I don’t get concerned with whether I am “caught up” and I don’t do spreads dedicated to just one week or one month. I scrapbook as I am inspired, which leaves me with a hodgepodge of weeks at the end of the year, but that’s ok!”

“One thing I would like to try to do is print photos ahead. Currently I print at home, on demand, but it would be nice to have a pile of photos ready so that I don’t have to worry about that step when I sit down to scrapbook. Another plan of mine is to somehow organize all my PL cards and kits…..I haven’t even started this yet, but I am thinking about it a lot!”

ES-Megan01Megan Klauer said: “I’ve started my 2015 Album by recording a few of our goals. I kept the pictures subtle by reducing the opacity to 50% before printing. Because they aren’t technically “2015” photos I wanted the goals & journaling to be the focus yet still have a few images. I’ve combined the new Hello 2015 Collection, December Kit, along with a sneak of the January Kit to create my page. A fun tip : stamp directly onto the photos! It’s a great way to add a saying such as I did on my image {This is what life is all about!} ”

“I use the 12 x 12 inch size and do my Project Life on a monthly basis. Some months may have multiple pages, some just a few. I don’t stress about it too much. In 2013 I completed 5 full 12 x 12 albums. In 2014 I have 4 full (most of which still needs to be scrapbooked, but all of my photos are printed and slipped into the pocket pages ready for the creative fun part!)”

“I will try to continue to print photos as the year progresses. I like the idea of having all of them in order in the pocket pages, even if they aren’t scrapbooked yet. This way during my slow work months I can really focus on the scrapbooking and memory keeping part! I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Project Life. I’m preserved more everyday moments than I ever would have before!”

Jenni01Jenni Hufford said “I am excited to begin my fourth year of documenting with Project Life.  Each year I like to evaluate how I am documenting and look for ways to make this process easier, or streamline it to fit our lives. This year I plan to continue with a traditional album, document weekly, however change up pocket sizes and even my album size in the summer months.”

“One thing I noticed last year was that I enjoyed adding different sized pocket pages to my album.  I LOVE working with the coin pocket pages and want to incorporate this size and various other sizes with in my album. I want to even include scrapbook layouts within a spread if that’s what best documents my week. Some weeks have less or more photos than others— for those less weeks, I plan to just do one page (instead of a full two page spread).  I truly want to make this album work with our family schedule!”

Jenni03“The summer is always a very busy time for us, so I have already decided that my album for the summer will be a smaller size (probably a 6×8 pocket page style).  I am excited to see how that works and if this change will help me “keep up” better in the summer months. I am looking forward to a great year documenting with Project Life and Elle’s Studio!”
