The sun is beginning to set after a long hot day of swimming at the pool or laying on the beach. It’s time to end the day with a summer favorite…
Whether your Summer memories include hotdogs roasted over a campfire, followed by gooey s’mores, or a fresh selection of fruits and veggies from your local farmers market; let’s talk about capturing those simple life moments.
Many nights my family can be found sitting around our fire pit; taking turns cooking the hotdogs and lining up the makings of s’mores. It’s often just before dusk; which presents some great opportunities to do a bit of playing with my camera settings.

I prefer to us an fstop between 1.4 & 3.2 when I’m shooting at dusk, as I love the texture it creates.
And yes, my kids now know that if they just hold still for a quick photo I’ll turn the camera the other way much quicker. LOL!

For the last three images you will notice I used a much higher ISO. It’s simply because these were taken later which meant again less light.

So, now we have those photos; let’s get them on a page and our memories recorded!
I used a variety of pieces from the Saltwater Collection as well as a few sneaks of the July tag kit! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 10th when this kit is revealed along with the new design team gallery!
I mix in a few black & white photos along side color prints when I can to provide some fun contrast.
I hope you have been inspired to capture your Summer food favorites today!
Coming up on July 22 with Capture Life – Becoming an Angler – A Different Point of View.
I’d love to hear what tips, tricks, or prompts you’d like me to cover in the future!
Now go on … Get out and Capture Life!
