This week’s Project Life covers the week of January 1 – January 6th. The FIRST week of 2013!!!
I love new beginnings. And a new year of Project Life is no exception. It’s fun to “start again” with this method of documentation. I have said this before, but one of the things I love about Project Life is that every week, every month, every year can have a different feel or style.
I made a few goals and challenges for my Project Life album this year. One of those goals was to include more “found objects” within my spread. This week I used quite a few items that helped tell the story of our week. I included a 2013 calendar graphic that came with a recent Lisa Leonard purchase. A restaurant logo (where we ate for our first dinner of 2013), a logo from Ann Taylor Loft (from a gift I received), and a ticket stub from the weekend.
For my title/date pocket for this week, I used a Hambly overlay. This overlay was part of my cover page and I just added an Elle’s Studio Lil’ Snippets: Tiny Label to cover up the tag on the cover page. I use these labels ALL the time in Project Life. They are perfect for dates pockets and for a journaling spot in the 4×6 photo spots.
One thing I noticed while creating this first Project Life spread of the New Year was that I had a TON of photos. I am sure many of you will too. The excitement of starting a new year of Project Life usually results in many many photos. Which is WONDERFUL until you have to choose which ones to include– or not include. We had a week that included many get togethers, a holiday, sledding parties, and a birthday. So it was definitely hard to choose.
I always remind myself that the photos I don’t include are perfect for a layout, or possibly an 8.5×11 layout I an add in this spread later. This is an overview of our week, so I can feel okay about not including everything.
