Project Life: A New Year.

Happy New Year and welcome to a new year of Project Life at Elle’s Studio!!

Many of you may be embarking on your very first year of Project Life, while some of you are long time veterans of this wonderful system of documentation created by Becky Higgins.

2013 is going to be an exciting year at Elle’s Studio!  I am looking forward to another year of providing Project Life inspiration on our blog along with a few new features to help get your creative minds and thoughts flowing.

For my 2013 cover page I went with a black, white, cream, and gold “New Years” theme.   I added two pennants from the Be Merry Pennants, and one of the Be Merry 3 inch circles.   With special permission from Elle, I also included two items from two of our new collections that will be debuting at CHA mid-January!  Can you spot them???  ðŸ˜‰

When thinking about 2013, and how I plan to document our lives using Project Life, I took some time to LOOK BACK at how I documented our lives using Project Life in 2012.  I asked myself the following questions:

  1. What worked?
  2. What didn’t work?
  3. Was anything “left out” in what was documented?
  4. What do I want to add to my Project Life?
  5. What is my plan for if when I get behind?

Thinking about these questions helped me formulate my plan for this year.  For instance, when thinking about what was “left out” of my album in 2012, I realized that I have very few photos of Todd during his work day.  This may take some planning, but I would love to have portions of his professional life included in our family album.

I also made the plan that I if I get more than three weeks behind, I will skip ahead to the current week and work from there.  When I have time, I will go back to the week’s where I fell behind and catch up.   I discovered I enjoy working on the most current weeks, and I feel “less stressed”.

These are just a few things I discovered during my PL brainstorming session–it proved to be very beneficial as I plan and prepare for 2013!

We have a special giveaway today!   Upload your Project Life cover page to the Elle’s Studio Member Gallery for a chance to win a $25 Elle’s Studio gift card!  We will randomly choose one lucky winner and post their cover page in our Project Life post next Tuesday.  Good Luck!

Here’s to documenting a wonderful 2013!
