National Scrapbooking Day 2011 : Scrapbook Sketch

We promised you inspiration and here it is!  This past year, I realized how awesome scrapbook sketches truly are.  If I’m stuck in a creative rut or simply want someone else to do the thinking for me, I’ll pull out a sketch and use it as a jumping point.
For National Scrapbooking Day, not only are we providing you a sketch but I’ve personally put the sketch to work to insure that it will help you create a layout in no time.  (I’ll be honest, if I would’ve been exclusively scrapbooking instead of catching up on 90210 on the DVR it would’ve come together even faster.  Did I just admit to watching 90210?)

This sketch includes spaces for three photos, but feel free to interpret it in any way that makes sense to you.  Flip it, rotate it, whatever you’d like.
I followed the sketch pretty much as it’s drawn.  I find that with limited time to scrapbook, I don’t often use atypical photo sizes.  Instead, I used two 4×6 photos and cropped a third photo to 4×4.  For my title, I didn’t have the letters needed so I cut the backing sheet to use the negative of the original alphabet instead.  I loved being able to add additional information and detail to my layout with a few tags.
Looking for an incentive to get to work this weekend?  We can help with that!  Create a layout based on our sketch and you’ll be entered to win your choice of FIVE SETS OF TAGS from Elle’s Studio.  Five sets!
