I was so surprised and very excited to open my Creating Keepsakes magazine this month and see this amazing layout by Linda Barber featuring our Monthly Flashcards! We wanted to tell them both how thankful we are for their support – it means the world to us!
We love how Linda put this layout together, using each of the flashcards to make a background! So clever how she turned each flashcard to face a different direction, added a little photo to each month, and topped it off with a small embellishment and journaling! So awesome and such a fun way to capture the entire year in one layout!
We wanted to celebrate the product feature by making the Monthly Flashcards 10% off for the entire month of September! Right now would be a great time to get that 2011 layout ready – you’d just have to add a couple photos to finish it off!

Saturday Spotlight: Meghann Andrew

It’s the first Saturday of the month, so that means it’s time for our Saturday Spotlight! We are absolutely thrilled to shine the spotlight on Meghann Andrew today! We are in love with her scrapbooking style: the way she layers and adds embellishments, her journaling, photos, stamping – it’s incredible! Meghann made two special layouts just for us today, and wrote a little about each one!

Meghann says, “I love using ES tags, because they’re so versatile. I use them for journaling, but also for embellishments! I also love the colors, and I can always find an ES tag that coordinates with the kit I’m using for a layout.”

On the ‘Keeneland’ layout, I started with the ES Summer Memories circular tag in the center of my 12″x12″ page and decided to arrange my photos around it! It creates a nice focal point on the layout & houses my journaling. Once I finished it off, I felt like something was missing, so adhered the lime & turquoise pennants to the base of the title block. These are fantastic for housing journaling, dates & embellishment!

Products used: Keeneland layout made with Studio Calico’s Paper Moon kit, Elle’s Studio Lime and Turquoise Pennants, and Summer Memories Journaling Circle tags.

On the ‘Seaside’ layout, I cut out a tag (my favorite one from the Lil’ Snippets!) to help me create my grid and house my journaling and title. I couldn’t believe how well the colors coordinated with the Boardwalk kit from Studio Calico! I created my own flower embellishment with canvas ribbon from the kit & felt like it needed some leaves. I cut out a turquoise pennant and divided it in half. It really finished off my custom embellishment and made a great place to put the date.

Products used: Elle’s Studio Turquoise Pennants and Beach Lil’ Snippets.

Hello September + sneaks!

It’s September already and we can feel fall in the air around here! September is one of my favorite months because it means that all the holidays are right around the corner and it also means my birthday is coming up… cake!!
We thought we’d start out this month with some exciting sneak peeks of what’s coming very soon!

Sketch Thursday

This weeks sketch is based off our August Guest Designer, Keisha Campbell’s layout! We love how she used our Handmade Layers collection to put together a beautiful layout! Plus, that banner at the top and the grid pattern in the middle? Amazing!!

Digi News & One Buck Wednesday!

Wednesday is here and that means it’s time to let you know what’s new in our digital store and what we have up for $1 for One Buck Wednesday!

Moving update!

Good morning and happy Monday, everyone! I am so excited to let you know that the moving is going very smoothly and fast – I feel so blessed!! We’ve had tons of help from family (and even my nephew shown above!) and I’m forever grateful for their help! We are almost unpacked and ready to open the shop back up and start shipping!

Sketch Thursday : 8.25.11

It’s Sketch Thursday and this week’s sketch is based off of Design Team member Allison Waken’s super cute and fun layout she did for our August Inspiration Gallery!

I love how this layout and sketch has room for lots of layering, and that the paper pieces are small enough that you can use some of the scraps of your favorite papers you might have been saving (if you’re like me and save every last piece!!). I also love how everything is centered and that Allison also took time to add the date in the left corner – dates on layouts are so important to me!
So now it’s your turn! You can flip it, move the title, change up the photo size… maybe two 4 x 6’s? It’s totally up to you!

As our August gallery went live yesterday, you got to see the amazing and beautiful creations of our seven design team members, along with the creations from our guest designer this month, Keisha Campbell!
