Aren’t they all incredible? Thanks so much for keeping us inspired, ladies! We love how they used the May kit and mixed it in with all our other current collections, too!

Can you believe it’s already been a year since we first started offering these kits? Time is flying! Since we’ve been doing these for a year now, we thought it would be fun to put together a survey to see what you guys are loving, want to see more of, suggestions for future, and more!

SKETCH THURSDAY

Today’s sketch is inspired by WaiSam’s My Hero layout from this month’s DT gallerysketch 05.15

For my layout, instead of of a big banner I made a mini double one. I cut out different shapes from patterned papers and added little wood veneer & candy buttons. I cut out the white background from the ‘just sayin’ tag and used it to frame the picture.

ELLE’S STUDIO PRODUCTS USED:

CARDS

Hello everyone! I have a couple of cards to share with you today featuring our brand new monthly kit. This kit is so versatile… it has tags for teachers, heroes, fathers and everything in between. I love it!

best teacher

I cut out several hearts from the kisses paper and combined it with the ‘best teacher’ tag to create this teacher’s appreciation card.

bloom

The ‘bloom where you are planted tag’ is just perfect for a card as is! To dress it up a bit, I cut out the flowers and re-attached them with pop dots, then added several cutouts to the middle white space. Super simple but so cute, no?

PROJECT LIFE

Today’s Project Life covers the week of April 28 – May 4Image 2

I was involved in a huge fundraiser at our school, which resulted in a huge majority of our week spent working at school— it was so tiring but I managed to document much of our event and other happenings!

Image 6

Additionally, my husband’s office (our family business) was named #9 top best place to work in Indiana this week— it was a huge week for celebrations!

Image 3

I was excited to unpack the May 2013 Kit and use bits and pieces in this months spread.  It truly is a wonderful compliment to completing your pocket page-style layouts!

Image 1

I included a sleeve with our Auction Fundraiser program, in addition to a separate insert (Design H).

I heavily focused on photos from this week and items from the kit.  Sometimes it’s great to really focus on the photography from the week!  On the final page I included a 12×12 of our final product from our school fundraiser.

Capture Life : My Process from iphone to Print

Today I’m going to share with you the editing process I use when capturing our everyday life via my iphone.

This was the orginial photo SOOC (straight out of camera) or in this case, my iphone.

photo(4)

I then opened the photo in an app called Pic Tap Go and used a few of my favorite “recipes” within the app to get the look I love – soft and matte.

photo(5)

In the particularly case, I wanted to share it via instagram as well. So, I then did a bit more editing there, thus cropping it into a square.

photo(3)

I email the full size images directly from my phone to my email address and create a folder that I later save onto my external hard drive.

When printing the photos for my Project Life album I pretty much always resize them so I can print two images on one 4×6 print. (I do this step in Photoshop) and it looks like this :

Untitled-27webThe next step of course is to preserve those images and memories.

I used a combination of the new SHINE collection, the May Exclusive Tag Kit, and the Bloom Wood Veneers.

I also wanted to incorporate the cute little creations my kids made me that held the flowers they gave me. I carefully took the cones apart (with their permission of course) and added elements of them to my page. These make the page all the more meaningful. Happy Creating! ~ Megan

PROJECT LIFE

Today’s Project Life covers the week of April 21-April 27.Image 5

My motto for this week was: done is better than perfect.   I have had the busiest 2 weeks of my life volunteering at my kids’ school for a huge fundraiser that occurred this past weekend. I have had very little time at home, let alone to scrapbook.  We’ve all had weeks like this!  It is a very common (and understandable) reason to fall behind in Project Life. Additionally, I always have very detailed, and PERFECT visions of what I want to create in my mind.  But realistically, there are weeks where I do not have the time to spend hours on my Project Life spreads.  I have learned that I value DONE more than PERFECT.

Image 6

And to be honest, I really love this spread.  I spent minimal time pulling everything together, and with the Elle’s Studio products I used, it just WORKS.  Our week is documented and done… I am thrilled with the way it turned out.

Image 4

I used a mixture of Everyday Moments, monthly kits, wood veneer, and Cameron to make this happen.  And that “hello” stamp is my new favorite!
