This week’s sketch was inspired by Juliana’s Love This Moment layout.

I invited GDT, Ashley to play along this week and she created this AMAZING layout!!

I really loved the large circle around the photo and title area, because the circle helps bring everything together on your layout. I used a large die cut circle, with the word Hello, and placed it to work in the title area, and then added the Love This Moment transparent tag, to complete my title. I added some fun layering around my photo area, using patterned paper, tags, and wood veneers. Once I had everything in place, I finished my layout by stitching two off center circles and sprinkling on a bit of spray mist. -Ashley

A sneak peek at our exclusive kit for June

PROJECT LIFE

We have a ton of Project Life inspiration to share with you today!

Three of our Creative Team / Design Team Members have created fabulous spreads using our new collection Shine, and various monthly kits!

First we have Juliana Michaels sharing this bright, fun, summer spread using Shine and Everyday Moments.Juliana shares, “Last summer, I went on vacation and had the chance to go deep sea fishing. Doing this has been on my bucket list for a long time, so it was a dream come true to have this opportunity. I took a ton of photos and I wanted to scrap all of them, but I was struggling with how to do this. For some reason, the idea of doing a pocket style like layout came across my mind. I knew this would be the perfect way to get a ton of photos on a page.I went through my photos and figured out which ones to put together on a page. Next, I used a piece of white cardstock as my base and determined the placement of the photos. Finally, I dug into my Elle’s Studio stash and selected tags, die cuts, stamps, and patterned paper from the Shine and Everyday Moments collections to embellish the page and help record the memories of this fun and happy day! “

Next we have a beautiful spread by Patricia Roebuck.This beautiful spring themed spread uses a huge variety of Elle’s Studio Products. March and April kits; Everyday Moments: Cutouts, Veneers, Stamps, Paper Collection Pack; Love You More: Journaling Tags, Veneers, Stamps, Paper Collection Pack; Happy Day Wood Veneers, Noteworthy Stamps, Good Times Stamps Patricia shares that she “loved mixing and matching the Everyday Moments and Love You More Collections with the limited edition kits, stamps, and veneers. Everything went so well together.”

Finally we have a gorgeous spread by Jen Chapin to share with you today.

This layout is so fully of lovely details! Jen used the Shine collection and various limited edition kits (May 2014, March 2014)I also love how she layered the Elle’s Studio transparency over her photo, and how she mixed up her page protector styles in this spread!

Tag You’re It

If you haven’t checked out the new SHINE collection by now, you NEED to!

It’s full of bright colors, just right for documenting your Summer adventures!

I started my tag by compiling a combination of supplies …

Including the HAPPINESS IS stamp set from the SHINE collection … I’ve been excited to use the lemon stamp!

The first step was to cut my title using my Silhouette. {I laid it directly over my tag to use as a mask with mist.}

I then used water soluble markers to color directly onto the stamp in order to get a two toned print. {I stamped them onto white cardstock and cut around them.}

I created layers with multiple tags from the SHINE collection and the stamped lemon pieces.

I finished with a touch of sewing and this tag is ready to either include in my Project Life album, or attached to a gift or card front.

I suggest trying this simple stamping technique. It yields such fun results!

Q&A Saturday

When we got this question, I was so excited to get to work on compiling examples for you all!

The question was :: What do you do with all the 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 cards
if you do not do Project Life?

Oh my gosh! There are so many ways to use these amazing cards!

Layouts, cards, mini albums, special notes in your kid’s lunch box, reward cards for good behavior … the possibilities are endless!

Here are just a few examples …

I created this layout with cards from the new SHIINE collection. Add them onto your layout in layers for a fun stacked look with all sorts of little areas to journal on!

Have you seen the new WASHI TAPE STAMP? I’m in love!!! Becki and Lilin created this beautiful mini albums with the cards not only as a base but as inserts and bits & pieces for journaling and adding photos!

Jenny used a card as her focal point on this Patriotic card.

I also wanted to share a sneak into Jen Chapin’s Project Life album to show how the cards are great ways to jot down lists or jump start your journaling!

Design Team Highlight using our Patriotic collection

Today is our last day of inspiration from our Patriotic mini collection and we want to highlight some amazing projects from our Design Team Gallery! Let’s take a peek:
This My Hero is by Patricia and we love how she mixed the Patriotic collection with our Everyday Moments collection – what a fun way to highlight her dad with that vintage photo, and she even included a letter he wrote!

WaiSam’s My Hero layout is so pretty with all these layers and we love how she made a banner across the entire 12 x 12 layout, and then filled it in with lots of bits and pieces, and die cuts!

Valerie’s You Are My Hero card uses our Patriotic tag and wood veneers in a cute way – what a great card to give to someone you adore!

The Let’s Celebrate layout is by Juliana and we think she captured the holiday perfectly! Loving how she combined the gray and kraft, with the red, white, and blue!

And, then the Happy 4th of July card above is by Jenny. We love all the layers and large pennants on this page, along with how she layered the transparent banner on top of the wood veneer!

I hope you are enjoying the week of inspiration featuring our Patriotic mini collection so far! Here’s today’s sketch:

For my layout I followed the sketch pretty closely. The stars paper from the Everyday Moments collection matches the Patriotic mini collection perfectly so I started with that. I then layered the transparent tags (LOVE those!), sprinkled some sequins, splashed some ink and my memorial day layout was done.

PATRIOTIC CARDS

Today we have a couple of cards to share with you! First up a fantastic card by Daniela. I love how she mixed the stars from the patriotic collection with the cut files from March. Also, notice how she used the packaging for the background. I love it!

Next, I made this card which I used for our Memorial Day centerpiece. I wrapped blue and red twine around a piece of cardstock, then added the clear tags, wood veneer and stamps.
