SKETCH THURSDAY

Welcome back to Sketch Thursday! Today’s sketch was inspired by Becki’s Thankful for You layout.

November Sketch1

I created this card inspired by the gathering of elements on the sketch:

thankful card1

I used texture paste to create a subtle (but cool!) background then added several tags, ribbon and candy dots for the sentiment. Simple, colorful and I love the way it turned out. I hope you like it too 🙂

Supplies: Elle’s Studio October 2014 kit, Sycamore Lane Bits and Pieces, Sycamore Lane Grateful Stamp

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Shop, create a project inspired by today’s sketch, upload it to the Member gallery and leave a comment back here with the link. A random winner will be selected and posted with next week’s sketch.

Last week’s winner is Jill Rugg!

Project Life | Documenting Halloween

Today I am sharing how I documented Halloween in my Project Life album.IMG_7813In full disclosure, these photos were from last years Halloween (because let’s be honest, my daughter WAS a FROZEN character this Halloween:).  I was able to play with Elle’s Studio Halloween Ephemera Pack a few days before Halloween and I came up with this layout for my daughter’s childhood album..IMG_7818

The Elle’s Studio Halloween Ephemera Pack pairs wonderfully with the Halloween items from Becky Higgins’ Project Life Holiday Mini Kit.  I was able to quickly put together this spread and love the way it turned out.

IMG_7798

I misted the bat wood veneer piece black and added it to my title card so that the bats looked scattered across the spread. (the “Halloween” title card is a retired Elle’s Studio journaling card!).  The leaf was preserved using this method.   I love having that extra touch in the spread!

IMG_7805

On the bottom card I included the arrow stamp from the My Favorites Exclusive Stamp.   I hope this inspires you to get your Halloween documented!

We’d love to see your Project Life album! Make sure you upload what you are working on to our gallery and tag the Elle’s Studio products that you used. We feature our members projects every Sunday, so make sure you check back to see if you project is being spotlighted in our “Project Spotlight” blog series. Mini Albums

We have more mini albums to share with you today! Our team each used our exclusive Autumn Wood Veneer Mini Album covers for the covers of their albums, and then used products from our Sycamore Lane collection and our exclusive October kit for the inside! Let’s take a peek at what they came up with:

First we have Angie Gutshall’s October 2014 mini:
011_edited-1 012_edited-1 Elle's-Studio-Album_edited-2Products used: Autumn Wood Veneer Mini Album Covers; Exclusive October Kit; Sycamore Lane Papers, Bits and Pieces, Cork Shapes, Blank Labels, Stamp; Letters & Number Stickers – Red

We love how Angie painted on the wood covers – what a fun look and way to change it up! We also love how she used so many bits and pieces from our collections to coordinate with her photos and document her memories!

Next we have Patricia Roebuck’s Trick-or-Treat mini:
ES-Patricia1 ES-Patricia2 ES-Patricia4 ES-Patricia5 ES-Patricia8Products used: Autumn Wood Veneer Mini Album Covers; Exclusive October Kit; Sycamore Lane Papers, Bits and Pieces, Stamp; Halloween Ephemera Pack; October Cut Files; Letter & Number Stickers – White; Numbers Stamp

Patricia also painted with black and white acrylic paint on her cover and we love how it looks with our Trick-Or-Treat wood veneer (also available as a cut file). She said she made this mini ahead of time and plans to fill it with photos taken from this years Halloween. She also used watercolor on the inside to add some extra dimension to our journaling tags!

Jennifer Chapin made a 6 Years of Spooky album:

This is such a clever idea, Jennifer! What a fun mini album to look back on and see all the years in one book! We love how she used our papers and tags too coordinate with each photo, too!

And, Melissa Mann made a mini full of Happy Memories!
MiniBook_MelissaMann1 MiniBook_MelissaMann2 MiniBook_MelissaMann4 MiniBook_MelissaMann5 MiniBook_MelissaMann6 MiniBook_MelissaMann7 MiniBook_MelissaMann10Products used: Autumn Wood Veneer Mini Album Covers; Exclusive October Kit; Sycamore Lane Papers; Good Times Stamp; Penelope Bits and Pieces, Letter & Number Stickers

Such a beautiful album by Melissa – Those full page (4 x 6 inch) photos really pop and we love how she added little bits here and there to them!

Each one of these albums is so full of such special memories – what a treasure they are! Can you imagine looking through these in 10/20 years?

If you missed our part one of this post, you can check out even more mini albums from our team, here!

PROJECT LIFE

Today we have Patricia Roebuck sharing a week in her Project Life Album!

Image 5

Patricia shares, ” This was a busy week for our family.  Transitioning to school and homework, construction on our garage, and everything transferred to the house.

Image 9

I didn’t have as many photos, but a lot to say.   The photos I had were not great quality and I would normally not even use.  But I converted them to black and white.

Image 8

I have  three photos  that I took of my daughter’s art and creative writing work.  It was too special not to include.

Image 7

The October kit added the perfect amount of color, sentiments, and space for journaling.  The cut files added a nice touch in black to help create interest.

Image 6And the new Number Stamps are my favorite.  Love the look of them stamped as is or stamped and fussy cut!Image 4Thanks Patricia for sharing this beautiful spread with us!

We’d love to see your Project Life album! Make sure you upload what you are working on to our gallery and tag the Elle’s Studio products that you used. We feature our members projects every Sunday, so make sure you check back to see if you project is being spotlighted in our “Project Spotlight” blog series.
