We are so excited to welcome a new guest designer to the blog today, Brianna Lepper! Brianna has designed for our popular From Sketch to Finish Vol. 6 class, and we loved her layouts so much that we just had to welcome her back again. Her style is clean, but with lots of color and a bit of mixed media thrown in for good measure, and she always inspires us. We know that what she has to share with us today using our April 2022 kit and add-ons will inspire you, too! Let’s hear from Brianna!
Hey friends! It’s Brianna Lepper here today and I’m so excited and honored to be the April guest designer! Elle’s Studio is one of my faves and I couldn’t wait to start creating. The April release is fabulous and I wanted to use it all! I was immediately inspired by the outline Basic Shapes Stamp and knew that I would use it to create my first project. There’s a process video down at the end of this post so if you’d like to see how this page came together, make sure to check it out! Here’s what I came up with:
Supplies | April 2022 Kit, Flower Die Cuts, Easter Stickers, Flower Puffy Stickers, Warm Puffy Heart and Star Stickers, The Best Paper Stack, Basic Shapes Stamp – Outline, Basic Shapes Stamp – Solid
To start, I took one of my large acrylic blocks and arranged some of the outline Basic Shapes Stamps around it. I had so many ideas for both this set as well as solid Basic Shapes Stamp, that I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to do. (I wish there were more hours in the day!) In the end, I took a black ink pad from my stash, inked up all of my arranged stamps, and stamped them a few times across a piece of textured white cardstock. This created a fun and clean background for my photos and embellishments to sit on top of. To add a bit of color, I took the heart from the solid Basic Shapes Stamp and stamped it around a few times.
Since Easter is this weekend, I thought it would be great to document an Easter photo! And I also really wanted to use the super cute Easter Stickers from this release. I matted my photo with a few of The Best Paper Stack papers and distressed the edges. I then adhered it down to my page and added the cute paper clip from the April Kit die cuts to the top of it.
To create my embellishment clusters, I pulled out the Flower Die Cuts and chose some of the floral pieces in different colors and sizes. I chose a large flower for my main cluster and added in some smaller ones as well as some of the leaves. I bent up the edges of the flowers and leaves to create more interest. I used one of the Easter Stickers as my title and backed it with a scrap piece of cardstock to pop it up with dimensional adhesive. I also layered in a few more of the Easter Stickers, since they’re so cute!
One of the The Best Paper Stack papers has some great circular seal elements, so I die cut a few out using the Good Times Seals Metal Die to add to my clusters. I also fussy cut a tag and labels from one of the 3 x 4 tags in the April Kit. I just love fussy cutting and getting the most out of products. In this cluster, I popped up one of the seal elements and layered a few Flower Die Cuts as well as some Flower Puffy Stickers and Warm Puffy Heart stickers.
For the finishing touches, I added in tangled thread and a few of the smaller Flower Puffy Stickers and Warm Puffy Heart stickers around the rest of my page.
Here’s one last shot of my page:
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way! I love stamping on my layouts to create a fun background—have you given it a try? Watch as I create this layout in my process video:
There are endless possibilities if you use the Outline and Solid Basic Shapes Stamps. Thanks again for being here, and I’ll see you in my next post where I share another page using this awesome April release!
Hey friends! My name is Brianna Lepper and I’ve been scrapbooking for over 15 years now. I started sharing my love for it over on YouTube and then ventured over to Instagram. I love the paper crafting community! We are a military family stationed in Northwest Louisiana and we have two boys, Noah and Elijah. We also have three dogs, Pippa, Luna and Cubby and you’ll always see them on my layouts. When I’m not scrapbooking or teaching about scrapbooking, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
