Printable Power with Amanda-jayne Baldwin

Our monthly printables coordinate with our exclusive kits to help you stretch your supplies, but you can also use them on their own to create beautiful things, as design team member Amanda-jayne Baldwin is ready to show us today! She’s created not one, or two, but THREE different projects using this month’s Grateful for This Printables only! Let’s take a look at today’s project!

Hi, friends! Welcome back to the Elle’s Studio blog for more September kit and add-on inspiration! It’s Amanda here, and today I am shining the product spotlight on our amazing Grateful for This Printables. The monthly printables offered by Elle’s Studio are so incredibly versatile, and offer a lifetime of creative uses and possibilities! I can’t get enough of them, but enough chatter, here’s what I’ve created with them:

Supplies | Grateful for This Printables, Wood Veneer Circles

When using the monthly printables, I always look for journaling tags that would make for a great patterned paper background, and smaller details that can be fussy cut to create my own embellishments.  That’s exactly how I created this sweet fall-themed page!

I trimmed my white cardstock down to 8.5″ x 11″ so it would fit into my home printer, selected journaling tag #04 and printed it as a full size photograph. Voila! Instant patterned paper to scrapbook and craft with! Such a fantastic way to maximize the printables to work for more than just pocket page creating! The plaid pattern design in the fall colors is really “beauti-fall” too!

While I had my home computer and printer on, I proceeded to print off a mix of different sized journaling tags: in particular, lots of journaling tag #05. I did this so that I would have a variety of hearts for my embellishments. I used journaling tag numbers 01 and 03 from the Grateful for This Printables to back my sweet boy’s photo with, and then for a bit of texture and interest, I added some torn tissue paper scraps to the layers as well.

I foam mounted my layered photograph directly onto my freshly printed patterned paper, and then started on fussy cutting out all the hearts from journaling tag #05. The variance in sizes really does create the illusion of having more ephemera pieces—another great way to get more from your printables!

I positioned the hearts across the top of the plaid trim, and tucked some beneath, in and on my photo cluster. I was mindful to ‘hide’ some of the printed words to give the illusion of more hearts. This also aided in making more of a focal point, and subtitle, of the hearts where the printed words were still visible.

Across the base of page, I also added a row of hearts on the edge of the plaid trim. This time, I cut some of the hearts in half to create the look of them being tucked under the plaid pattern paper, while others I glued over the plaid edge. The combination of ‘under and over’ creates interest and helps to anchor my overall page design. I fussy cut the word “love” from journaling tag #05, and foam mounted it over the large gray heart to form my layout title. Simple, but so effective! For finishing touches, I added a couple of typewriter sentiments, a few silver sequins and those fabulous Wood Veneer Circles. The veneers add warmth and balance to my page, and well, they just look super cool!

Simple, beautiful creating with our gorgeous September Grateful for This Printables! If you’re thinking that this was just a one-off, I was actually so impressed with this month’s printables that I used them to create ALL my Elle’s Studio projects this month! Here’s a little more inspiration to close with:
