Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! This is Marsha, and I am here today sharing a traveler’s notebook layout using the awesome new Autumn Days 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stack that released this month. It is full of so many beautiful colors and patterns—perfect for documenting fall memories! I was able to use all of the papers on my layout, and, because they coordinate so perfectly, this spread came together in a snap!
Supplies | September 2020 Kit, September Labels, This is Us Stickers, Cozy Chipboard, Autumn Rainbow Puffy Stickers, Autumn Days 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stack, Grateful Stamp, My Heart Stamp, Dated Stamp, My Heart Metal Die
I began the layout by printing three photos to document a family vacation day last fall. Using the Autumn Days Paper Stack, I trimmed 2″ squares from all of the papers in the stack. The colors and patterns are gorgeous, and I couldn’t resist using a bit of each on my spread! I arranged them in a grid pattern, using white textured cardstock for the base of my layout.
I added my photos to the page and used die cuts from the September Kit to embellish. The word “joy” from the My Heart Stamp was perfect for adding interest to one of the die cuts.
Next, I stamped the date using the Dated Stamp and black ink. I rotated the month stamp to add a little extra interest to the stamping. The My Heart Metal Die worked perfectly for cutting a stitched heart from one of the patterned papers. I used the Cozy Chipboard to embellish a few of the squares, including adding a chipboard piece to one of the photos.
For the title, I used the Grateful Stamp and black ink, stamping the sentiment on vellum. I matted my photo with a black dot patterned paper from the Autumn Days Paper Stack and adhered it to the vellum. One of the rainbows from the Autumn Rainbow Puffy Stickers was the perfect little embellishment above the title.
I trimmed one of the journaling tags from the September Kit into a two-inch square, because I chose to use the patterned paper to back my photo and needed another patterned square to complete the grid. To finish the spread, I typed my journaling, trimmed it into strips, and adhered it to the page. This is one of my favorite techniques for including journaling on a layout.
I hope I have inspired you to create a project using ALL of the papers from the Autumn Days Paper Stack. Please share your creations with us in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #ellesstudio. I will see you again soon!
