Did you know? When Elle designs her products, she always includes a sheet of labels with each monthly release that matches the journaling tags in the monthly kit. Not only do I love these little rectangles of goodness, I also love using up all my supplies! Today I am going to share three ways I used the June Labels to dress up my pocket page. Easy to use, they can be a simple addition to your layout. Have a look:
Supplies | June 2019 Kit, June Labels, Summer Puffy Stickers, Lime Green Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Large Jane Alphabet Stamp – Stripes
In this 6″ x 8″ double pocket spread, I tell the story of my son playing summer soccer. Sam is my second child, and as such he was often dragged to many of his older sister’s soccer games. Now that he is old enough to play, we signed up for Monday night soccer. As you can tell that bright orange shirt offered some interesting design challenges for me. The June Labels were a great way to add lots of colour in small bursts around my page.
An obvious way to use the June Labels to dress up your pockets is to stamp on them. Here I combined a orange label on a lime green 3″ x 4″ journaling card. These colours matched my son’s soccer uniform as well as background of the enlarged photo. Using the striped Large Jane Alphabet Stamp, I stamped the letter “S” for my son’s first name and included the date on the label. I always like to include the date on most of my pages. Although this was a recent moment, I know it will be one I soon forget. Having the date is a nice reminder of what age my kids are, especially when they start specific activities.
The second way to use your monthly kit labels to dress up your pockets is to layer embellishments on them. I just love the green “favourite” die cut from the June Kit and layering it on yellow label added another dimension of colour to my layout. If you don’t have a die cut that expresses your favourite sentiment, consider adding puffy stickers to help spell out your title. On this page, I used a large orange tag and to add the word “soccer” as part of the “summer soccer” heading.
Lastly, you can always use the fun and colorful labels to decorate your journaling tags. Here I kept the orange, green, light green, blue and yellow June Labels in a row, intact. After cutting them as a row from the sheet, I then cut them in half. I then add the labels in a line to the top of my white 4″ x 6″ journaling tag. Yes, I created my own customized journaling tag, using those labels. So fun!
Simple to use, consider adding a label to your pockets the next time you are faced with a design dilemma!
