We are very excited to bring you a new “Project Life” blog series at Elle’s Studio! Project Life was created by Becky Higgins as a way to simplify the way you document life by taking a week by week approach. This particular blog series is designed to show you examples of how Elle’s Studio products compliment the Project Life products, and we hope to inspire you with new ideas as you create your own Project Life album!
This past August I decided to take the plunge and start Project Life at the beginning of the school year (as opposed to waiting until January 1st.) It’s somewhat of a second “new year” for us anyway! I am only a few weeks into Project Life, and I enjoy it so much, and notice it allows me to be more aware of my surroundings and documentation approach. What I love is that there are really no rules as to when you should (or shouldn’t) start Project Life– anytime is a good time.
This is the week of September 19-25th for our family. I used a variety of Elle’s Studio Products such as Winter Large Journaling Tags, the Everyday Large Journaling Tags, Lil’ Snippets Days of the Week-Monday, and Lil’ Snippets Dates. I found these paired very well with American Craft’s Amy Tangerine line.
For each week I try to keep “found” items (otherwise known as items that end up at the bottom of my purse and/or are on their way to the trash). Basically, just a little slice of our week that means something to me and my family. For this week, I included my son’s school picture “preview”, trimmed a watercolor picture he painted, and used a size tag from a pair of pants at Carter’s (“let’s play”, and the “5 kids” which is his pants size).
I also included a few photos that were printed through an app on my iPhone, Postal Pix. This program is wonderful for photos you run through Instagram. I use my iPhone so much during the week that it really helps me accomplish my goals with Project Life.
