Welcome to another week of Project Life at Elle’s Studio! This week’s Project Life covers the week of April 30-May 6.
I am approaching a milestone with my Project Life album– I started Project Life on my son’s the first day of school last August (yes I started mid-year and not in January— anytime is a good time to start!). This coming Friday is his last day of school.
I just realized this week that I have documented (almost) his whole school year! Sure there are a few weeks here and there that I need to catch up on, but for the most part I have two large albums that show the span of time from the first day to the last day of school. There is definitely a feeling of accomplishment when you can look back and see an era of time documented and complete.
As I was looking through my Project Life album I began to think about what I loved most about my pages. I found that the pages I loved the most (and spent the most time reading and looking at) where ones where I told more stories and less of “we went here on Monday, we went there on Tuesday, etc”. It is definitely fine to state where you went on each day, but for me, the most meaningful pages were the ones where I shared stories, funny things the kids said, meaningful conversations with my husband– those kinds of things.
With that– I want to present a challenge for all of you participating in Project Life. Take time this week to flip through your album. What parts do you love most? What do you spend the most time reading? What things would you like to incorporate more (or less) of going forward? Thinking of these things have helped me as evaluate how I am putting together my Project Life album.
There are so many of you who have left comments that you are thinking you might start Project Life. Well, why wait??? Now is a great time to start Project Life. For those of you who have kids in school there is a natural change of pace over the next few weeks with school ending— starting Project Life for Summer break would be great!! Anytime is a great time to start.
