Using our kits as a story prompt with Meghann Andrew

A lot of times, going through the tags in my Elle’s Studio exclusive kit reminds me of other supplies in my stash and a story that needs to be told, and before I know it, I’ve completed a layout I love and documented an important memory.

The August exclusive kit and Everyday printables included 3” x 4” tags covered with stars, and they prompted me to pull out a photo of my daughter from a trip to the Johnson Space Center last year.

I decided to cut a large circle using the Sunny Days Documented paper, to match the large NASA logo in my photo. This is where I placed my title, created from chipboard alphas, Elle’s Studio letter stickers and the “adventure” tag from the Sunny Days bits and pieces.

Using all of these lovely stars reminded me of a rocket die-cut that I had in my stash, and I wanted it to look as though it was flying around my patterned paper circle. I adhered it using dimensional adhesive, then added a trail of stars behind it using the acrylic stars- patriotic mix, the teal heart circle acrylics, the stars from the August digital cut files, and a few enamel dots.

The Theodore Roosevelt quote tag was perfect for this layout, and to the right of it, I layered a Sunny Days bits and pieces teal circle with a rocket flair button on top.

This simple design makes a big impact, and it was all inspired by tags in my August exclusive kit. What stories will this kit prompt you to document today?
