Our December kit and add-ons have arrived

Our December reveal is here and we are excited to share all of the brand new and exclusive products that are now available in our shop today! December Kit Preview with Diane Dziuban

Hi, everyone! Happy December! It’s Diane here with a preview of the gorgeous December kit and extras coming to the shop tomorrow at 8 am Pacific! I think I say this every time, but it’s like the colors and the tags are made for my photos! You will find a mixture of wintry blues, greens, and grey, as well as some Christmas colors! I decided to use the blues, greens and teal hues to create a November currently pocket page.

I had a lot of fun layering and stamping my title card using the Christmas Phrases Stamp! I just love all of those labels on one card!

I used three journaling tags to get some details documented, making sure the “currently” tag was the focus in the middle.  I love getting the details down of what is currently favorites for me! It’s fun to see how things change.

I focused on images without people for this layout. I wanted to get some details of things that are bringing me joy right now, like the twinkle lights on the tree, my plants flourishing and a local little bookstore and coffee shop.

Thanksgiving Fun with Jennifer McMurtrey

Hello, friends! It’s Jen today with a holiday-themed pocket page spread documenting my family’s Thanksgiving. November came and went very quickly, and I am working on finishing last month’s spreads before going into December mode. However, I find myself at the very end of supplies in terms of the November 2022 Kit and add-ons. That being said, let me show you how I used very little product to complete this multi-page layout.

When it came to documenting our day, I found I actually had quite a bit to say. In order to accommodate all of my journaling, I opted to print on patterned paper from the Thankful Paper Stack that I cut down to 3 by 6 inches. Once printed, I backed the striped paper with a solid piece from the Warm Solids Paper Stack and embellished with die cuts, a sticker, and stamped sentiment. 

On the opposite page, I printed a large-format photo and added two banners cut from a 3 x 4-inch journaling tag. My husband restored an arcade, which he does as a hobby, for our future son-in-law and surprised him with it that day. 

Next, are a total of eight photos that I was able to fit onto two pages using small-format pictures along with flip-ups. On the opposite side of my journaling, I printed three smaller pictures and labeled them using Labels, Ledgers and Tabs Die Cuts with the Autumn Tabs Stamp. Because I am operating with few supplies, my pockets have minimal embellishments with more focus on the pictures.

The final page holds five more photos that I was able to include by creating flip-ups. First are photos of the entire family that took several attempts to achieve. I included the “bad” pictures because they are part of the story and are fun to see. When the photos are lifted, the good picture is included with a die cut attached to the top.

Last are the Thanksgiving details that include the who, what, when, and where of the day. This pocket has a flip-up with three total pieces. First is the 3 x 4-inch journaling tag from the November Kit that includes my hand-written notes.

Beneath the journaling tag is a picture of the cast-iron pecan pie I baked. Finally, I included a photo of the caramel-apple pie that I make every year for Thanksgiving.

When it comes to getting the most out of my product, stamps and patterned papers are my go-to. Now that Thanksgiving is officially documented, I can think ahead to the December release and record more holiday memories!

#EllesStudio Spottings on Instagram

This month, the #EllesStudio hashtag on Instagram was filled with inspiring fall projects and Document December prep that we loved seeing, and these five posts caught our eye!

We are starting off with two beautiful, fall projects! On the left, Leilani (@leilani_scraps) created a beautiful pocket page using our September 2022 monthly kit! It’s the perfect combination of photos, story and products. Beautiful! On the right, we were so excited to see how Stacie (@4momsed) used our Autumn Days Stamp in beautiful hues to create such a stunning layout! What a great design.

Did you create an October Daily album? Lynnie (@lynniebcrafts) did, and we love that she used our Halloween Die Cuts to embellish it! Spooky cute! On the right, we’re transitioning into the holidays with this FUN page by Becky (@myhappycraftylife) that she stamped using the Parker Alphabet Stamps in both solid and outline! Her quote page just makes us smile!

We had to feature both photos of this flip-out shaker page created by Jen (@jenjen_creates) using our November 2022 Kit. We can’t wait to see how Jen fills these pockets with her holiday memories!

Document December 2022 Inspiration: Week 01

Happy December, everyone! We are so excited to start off this week by sharing the projects our talented design team has already begun creating in their Document December albums using our Document December 2022 kit and add-ons! Without further ado, let’s let them inspire us to record our merry December moments!

Diane Dziuban

Diane is kicking off the first page of her album with a beautiful “December” cut file, filled with photos and patterns from our Twinkle Paper Stack! We especially love how Diane added interactive elements, like the pull-out Christmas Die Cut Tags in a small pocket and on her title page!

Jennifer McMurtrey

Jennifer’s album is taking a fun, vintage approach, and we love how she added fun texture and an antique wash to our “Dec 2022” die cut from the Document December 2022 Kit on her transparent title page! And her full-page photo underneath is stunning, too!

Junell Kruzel

How fun and happy is this spread from Junell? We just love the happy and colorful Christmas trees that she created using our Twinkle Paper Stack that she topped with the Red Foil Vellum Numbers! And her title—isn’t it sweet? She used the Lizzy Alphabet Stamp and stickers from the Document December 2022 Kit to create this perfect title!

Kat Benjamin

Kat’s fun spread features a large, embellished photo and pockets—the best of both worlds! Kat used die cuts, stickers and pocket tags from our Document December Kit, as well as our Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp, which includes so many useful phrases! We can’t wait to see more of Kat’s album!

Marsha Farris

Marsha’s reason why is JOY, and her spread makes us joyful when we look at it! We love the vellum pocket that Marsha created to hold her “why” tag, created with our Nested Tags Metal Die, Twinkle Paper Stack, Hazel Alphabet Stamp and Large Star Jane Alphabet Stamp. We also love that Marsha used our December calendar from the Document December Kit and embellished it with stamped icons and phrases from our Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp.

Melissa Mann

Melissa completely blew us away with her title page spread featuring a quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder, which she stamped using our Medium Jane and Parker Alphabet stamps! Then, the sweet felt pocket holds tags created using paper from our Twinkle Paper Stack and are used for stamped lists, created with our Christmas Tabs and Christmas Tabs Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 stamps. We also love that she included photos on the back!

Michelle Flynn

Michelle created such a FUN, graphic opening calendar using our December calendar featured in the Document December Kit! We love how she made it her own using the Twinkle Paper Stack and stickers from the Document December Kit, along with the Chipboard House Stickers. What a great idea!

Sarah Kee

Sara’s opening page shows off her clean style and her ease of layering embellishments! We love that she layered up stickers and die cuts from the Document December Kit on a stitched vellum pocket, and added a trail of Tiny Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers and sparkles from the kit, down the length of the page. So pretty!

Suzanna Lee

Suzanna’s opening page is actually a vellum shaker, topped with Document December Kit die cuts and other sparkly embellishments. We LOVE the emphasis on green, white and gold. Isn’t it so pretty!?

Wei Wei Wang

Last, but not least, Wei Wei created a colorful opening spread using so many of our favorite stamps! First, she used gold embossing powder with our Large Star Jane Alphabet Stamp in the perfect colors to coordinate with our kit to spell out “December” and matched it with the vellum “story” word from the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Vellum Die Cuts! On the right, Wei Wei stamped a beautiful tag using our Fa La La, December Grid and Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 stamps! We just love this happy, graphic tag!

A Merry Traveler’s Notebook Spread with Wei Wei Wang

Hi, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Wei Wei here, sharing a traveler’s notebook layout using the November monthly kit and add-ons, Document December products along with the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp!

Supplies | November 2022 Kit, Holiday Frame Stickers, Document December 2022 Kit, Tis the Season Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers, Twinkle Paper Stack, Fa La La Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp

To begin the layout, I selected a pink paper from the Twinkle Paper Stack as the background of the right side of the spread. Next, I layered a pink frame from the new Holiday Frame Stickers under my photo. The adorable Tis the Season Chipboard Stickers and Tiny Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers were great for decorating the layout.

To further embellish the spread, I added stamping on some of the die cuts from the Document December 2022 Kit with the Fa La La Stamp.

To create the title, I stamped  “Fa La La Moments” using the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp with red and green ink. 

I love the colorful “MERRY” pocket tag from the November 2022 Kit that is great for highlighting pictures on a page and add a pop of color. I adhered it to the right page, then embellished with a Holiday Puffy Label Sticker from the Document December Kit.

To complete the spread, I stamped the word “merriest” from the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp, and added the Christmas Tradition Stickers from the Document December Kit.

Document December 2022 Prep with Wei Wei Wang

Hi Elle’s friends, It’s Wei Wei here and I am so excited about this year’s Document December project! I have already begun to get all of my Document December 2022 Kit and add-ons organized and have put together the foundation pages to prep for the stories I want to tell. Are you ready?

My favorite part of Document December is decorating my title page with the adorable embellishments included in the kit. Even better is being able to use supplies I have on hand, such as the Twinkle Paper Stack, Red Foil Vellum Numbers, and Chipboard House Stickers.

I glued the calendar behind the first page to create a big pocket so that I can store my pocket mini album.

I used the Pop-Up Frames Metal Die as a place to document my favorite things. However, I cut out some of the flaps and added many beautiful embellishments directly to the page because I don’t want to fill each frame with photos.  

The amazing Document December Kit, Dark Green Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, and White and Dark Green Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers are perfect for those pop-up flaps.
