Digital Designs with Michelle Flynn

Hi, friends! Today I’m on the blog sharing how I used the awesome July 2022 Digitals in the summer album I’m currently making. Did you know that digitals are FREE when you are a monthly subscriber?  It really doesn’t get better than that! My favorite part about digitals is that you can use them over and over again as well as change them in any way you are inspired to! They are fabulous for traditional layouts but they are also amazing in smaller-sized projects as well. I was inspired to use them in this TN-sized notebook I’m working on so let’s get started!

Supplies | July 2022 Kit, July 2022 Cut Files, July 2022 Print and Cut Labels, Star Notes Die Cuts, Everyday Label Puffy Stickers, Magical Memories Tab Stamp

The July 2022 Cut Files are so awesome and I thought it would be fun to use it as a title on a bookmark-sized pocket tag in front of a full-size photo. I selected the pretty sky blue butterfly design paper using the Adventure Paper Stack. I cropped the paper and adhered the sheets together leaving the inside middle space free from adhesive.

I downloaded the cut file to my Cricut Explore and selected the light blue grid design sheet from the Paper Stack. I cut the digital “summer” title sizing it at 1.6 x 7.5 inches. I used the outline of the title cut file for the front-facing side and adhered it while adding a sweet sentiment using the Everyday Label Puffy Stickers.

I used the fun July 2022 Print and Cut Labels along with some lined paper from the Adventure Paper Stack to create a mini bookmark for journaling. I wanted it to be interactive and peek out from the bookmark pocket tag. I adhered another puffy and now it was time for the opposite side!

I followed the same process for the opposite side using the negative from the “summer” letters. I used dimensional adhesive to give it extra dimension when it’s laying on top of the full-size photo of my grandson. I added another sweet sentiment like the opposite side using the Everyday Label Puffy Stickers. I trimmed a photo of my grandson around the tiny circle print and cut a label for the backside of the mini bookmark tag and added another label and puffy to wrap it up.

For my full-sized photo of our sweet little guy, I adhered a blue die cut using the Star Notes Die Cuts. I just love Elle’s die cuts for layering sentiments! I attached the blue heart from the  July 2022 Kit and again added one of my favorites from this release, the Everyday Label Puffy Stickers. I finished it up with a stamped sentiment using the Magical Memories Tab Stamp.

I love how you can see the top of the mini bookmark journaling tag peeking out using the July 2022 Print and Cut Labels. It’s almost like an invitation to read the notes, and I just love how fun and bold that “summer” title is! I hope you’ll share your inspiration using this month’s digitals, which are just so fun to add to your memorykeeping projects!

Five Ways With the Star Notes Die Cuts

Hello there, ES fans, and happy Friday! One of our favorite products in the shop this month has to be the Star Notes Die Cuts! We just love their pretty, summery colors, their ability to document AND embellish, and the fact that this die cut pack is filled with stars—such a usable shape!

In case your Star Notes Die Cuts are still in your box, waiting to be used, we want to show you five different ways to do that this weekend!

1. Create a Visual Triangle

Successful embellishment is often found in groups of threes, and in Junell’s layout, she created a triangle of star groupings, perfect for making her photos take center stage!

2. Use them as a base for color-blocking

Sarah may have used a lot of embellishment here, but it’s not overwhelming! That’s because she color-blocked her groupings, keeping the same hues together. We love that she started these groupings with the Star Notes Die Cuts, choosing smaller embellishments like our Puffy Star Stickers to add to the top.

3. Create a grid

The Star Notes Die Cuts come in different shapes—square, rectangular and circular journaling spots, as well as stars, making them perfect for creating an out-of-the box grid, like Wei Wei did here on the left side of her notebook spread!

4. Use them in multiples

Suzanna had a great idea here on her layout to use three of the Star Notes Die Cut journaling labels here to compare three different finishes for her daughter’s swim meet. What can you compare by using three or more of these handy die cuts?

5. Create a wreath

The Star Notes Die Cut pack comes with 30+ stars, labels, circles, and more, plenty to create a wreath on your layout as Melissa created here. Pair them with die cut shapes from the Star Notes Metal Die and you’ll be well on your way to a beautiful layout design!

We can’t wait to see which of these ideas inspires you, or what you come up with on your own! Be sure to share with us in the Facebook Group or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag!

Catching Up with Memory Planning with AURÉLIE CORMIER

Hello, everyone! It’s Aurélie here today to show you the memory planner layout I just created with the July kit and its add-ons. Truth be told, I can’t remember when I last worked in my memory planner. Yikes! But not to worry! With my trusty notes on hand and once my photo placement was figured out, my creative process came rushing back.

Supplies | July 2022 Kit, July 2022 PrintablesStar Notes Die Cuts, Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Everyday Label Puffy Stickers, Orange Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Puffy Star Stickers, Star Notes StampMedium Jane Alphabet Stamp — SolidDated StampTitle Builder Vol. 5 Stamp The Merriest

Looking back at my other memory planner layouts, I noticed that I always printed a few photos in black in white. That way, if there were different colors in the photos than the collection I was using, I didn’t have to worry about it. However, when I looked at the photos I chose for this layout, I quickly realized that I would print all of them in color! A first for me! They all perfectly matched the colors of this month’s kit and its add-ons!

This particular week of 2021 was the last of the Tokyo Summer Olympics last summer and I wanted to remember the biggest moments of the Canadian team. As Layle Koncar has said many times in her in-person classes and in her lives, “Google is my friend!” I found this great photo online of Andre de Grasse, an amazing Canadian track and field athlete who won many medals during the event, and I knew I wanted to add it to my layout.

Some days, there’s just not a whole lot to jot down in my notes to transcribe in my memory planner layouts. So, I made the most of a few of the July 2022 Kit tags, the Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers and a July 2022 Printable to cover up white space on my layout.

One last thing: When you need a bit more room to tell your story, create flips and flaps like I did. See them? Some are for extra stories I wanted to tell and others are for stories I wanted to keep more private.

A Year of Memories with LeeAnne Jones

Hello, everyone! It’s LeeAnne here to share a 12 x 12-inch double-page layout highlighting the new Medium Hazel Stamp as well as the July 2022 Kit and some shop products from Elle’s Studio. This fun and versatile stamp set will help your document just about any memory or story.

Supplies | July 2022 Kit, July 2022 Labels, Summer Cardstock Stickers, Life Captured Stickers, Coral Cardstock Label Stickers, Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers, Light Pink Cardstock Label Stickers, Moss Green Cardstock Label Stickers, Yellow Cardstock Label Stickers, Light Teal Cardstock Label Stickers, Everyday Label Puffy Stickers, Puffy Star Stickers, Bright Puffy Asterisk Stickers, The Best Paper Stack, Love You Paper Stack, Warm Solids Paper Stack, Thankful Paper Stack, Adventure Paper Stack, Good Times Paper Stack, Medium Hazel Stamp, Hazel Alphabet Stamp, Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die

My first-born daughter is currently 8 years old, but I hadn’t yet scrapbooked the monthly growth photos from her first year. I thought this would be a fun way to use the Medium Hazel Stamp—as a repeating element that keeps the layout cohesive. In this case, my daughter’s age in months for each photo.

The letters and numbers of the Medium Hazel Stamp look like those from an old typewriter. Some edges are worn (such as the middle of the number 3) or “overinked” (such as the bottom right portion of the number 0), which lends this great authentic quality. I chose to use zeroes before the single-digit numbers for consistency, so each circle label sticker includes two stamped numerals.

When stamping my daughter’s name below the title, I opted for the original Hazel Alphabet Stamp. It’s a little smaller in size but perfectly matches the Medium Hazel Stamp. Mixing the two gave the layout font consistency without overwhelming it with all large type. For the journaling, I continued the feel of the Hazel stamps with a typewriter font, Remington Noiseless.

The rainbow running across the two pages was inspired by the July 2022 Labels. I selected patterned paper representing each color (with an extra entry in the orange/yellow zone) and stitched them together like a quilt. I embellished each section with coordinating cardstock label stickers, puffy stars and asterisks, and little phrases from the July 2022 Kit—some cut from journaling tags. Of course, I also had to incorporate strips of that inspirational label set in the journaling block and along the edges of the layout.

That’s it! I hope this layout inspires you to include the Medium Hazel Stamp in an upcoming project. Perhaps you’ll use it for a numbered list, too! We can’t wait to see, so be sure to share it in our Facebook Group or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag!

Find our new Medium Hazel Stamp in the shop today while supplies last, and be prepared to use this alpha over and over again on your projects!

Vaca Time Recorded with Diane Dziuban

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! It’s Diane here with a fun, bright pocket-page using the fabulous July kit and add-ons. You guys, this kit is full of bright colors and just plain happiness! I have used it here to document our trip to Disney in my family album. I have been working on pages for this trip in my travel album, but I wanted to make sure I got the trip documented in my monthly pages, too.

Supplies |  July 2022 Kit, Star Notes Die Cuts, Everyday Label Puffy Stickers, Puffy Star Stickers, Cerulean Blue Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Medium Hazel StampStar Notes Stamp, Summertime Tabs Stamp

I had a lot of fun creating the title using this bright blue tag. I didn’t want it to be too Disney, but I needed to make sure it showed that this was a vacation week. I wanted to bring in all of the colors in that awesome “hello good times” tag. That tag is my favorite in this release! It just makes me smile.

I loved all of the sentiments that came in the Everyday Label Puffy Stickers and wanted to use them throughout the layout. I thought the 3 x 4-inch tag with the 3 boxes would be a fun spot to place some of them. It brought some of the color over from the “hello good times” 3 x 4-inch tag. I love how it brings so much color in but still looks neat and tidy.

I was super excited to use the two new stamp sets, the Medium Hazel Stamp and the Star Notes Stamp on this layout, along with the Summertime Tabs Stamp. I can already tell that the Medium Hazel Stamp is going to be one of my favorites and get lots of use! It’s a perfect size!

I had so much fun using this kit to get a glimpse of this trip in my album! The bright colors and summertime feel just makes my photos pop. I can’t wait to see what everyone creates with this amazing kit!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer full of lots of crafty time!

Memory Planner Magic with Marsha Farris

Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! This is Marsha, and I’m excited to share a memory planner layout with you today! For my project, I documented a week in June using the July kit and add-ons. This month’s release was perfect for recording lots of little moments from my week!

Supplies | July 2022 KitStar Notes Die Cuts, Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Everyday Label Puffy StickersPuffy Star Stickers, Medium Hazel StampStar Notes Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 6 Simply Magic Stamp, Medium Jane Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Star Notes Metal Die

I began the layout by stamping the month with the Medium Jane Alphabet Stamp and black ink. I then used the new Medium Hazel Stamp to complete the dates on the pages. I have always loved the Hazel Alphabet Stamp, and this new larger size is perfection! I printed my photos, arranged them on the layout, and added hand-written journaling to coordinate with each photo.

Next came my favorite part of memory planning—embellishing the layout! I chose die cuts from the July 2022 Kit and labels from the Star Notes Die Cuts to decorate the spread. I also created mini titles on the pages with the Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers and Medium Hazel Stamp. I love including mixed sticker and stamp titles! I also trimmed out a portion of a tag from the July 2022 Kit and included it as a feature on the page.

I created two flips for extra photos by folding and scoring white paper to make hinges. To hold the first flip-up in place, I created a stamped and die cut star using the Star Notes Stamp and coordinating Metal Die. The other flip-up was held in place by a die cut arrow from the kit. To finish the left side of the layout, I created another mini title with the Title Builder Vol. 6 Simply Magic Stamp. This stamp is great for making titles, even on pages that are not theme park related!

I stamped a star using the Star Notes Stamp and cut it out with the coordinating Metal Die. This provided a spot for journaling about my niece’s 4th birthday party. Then, I created a little embellishment cluster using a label from the Star Notes Die Cuts, a die cut from the July Kit, and some stamping with the Star Notes Stamp

At the bottom of the page, I created another mini title using the Title Builder Vol. 6 Simply Magic Stamp and the Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers. To complete the spread, I added stickers from the Everyday Label Puffy Stickers and Puffy Star Stickers.

I have enjoyed sharing this fun memory planner layout using the July kit and extras! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy creating!

Five on Friday with Jen McMurtrey

Hello friends! It’s Jen today with the July edition of Five on Friday, where we are challenged to create a project using only five products from the July kit and add-on release. Sometimes less is more, right?

Let’s take a look at the finished 8 ½ x 11-inch layout:

Supplies | July 2022 Kit, Puffy Star Stickers, Medium Hazel Stamp, Star Notes Stamp, Star Notes Metal Die

The base of the project was created using white mixed media paper and distress oxide inks (Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina, and Faded Jeans). After using a plate and drawing a circle on the paper, I simply added water and inks until it was to my liking. This can sometimes be a bit of trial and error, so don’t be frustrated if you struggle when first trying it.

Once the background was dry, I used the Medium Hazel Stamp and stamped “vintage vibes” around the perimeter of the circle. I considered using black ink to do this but opted for the same distress oxide inks instead.

Next, I used the Star Notes Stamp with the same distress oxide colors to make coordinating embellishments. Since the stamps and Star Notes Metal Die create a solid star with lines for journaling, I decided to cut out the center of each large star in order to keep the mixed media background visible. This process was quick and easy with a straight edge and blade.

After cutting out the stars, I machine-stitched them atop the circle I’d previously drawn. Additionally, I added Puffy Star Stickers to the center of each to give them a bit more pizzazz.

From there, I added the photo and continued embellishing the layout using more stamped images from the Star Notes Stamp along with die cuts and journaling tags, fussy cut from the July 2022 Kit.

Last, I added journaling strips that I typed with my manual typewriter.

This layout was fun to make since I love using mixed media on projects, and I love how it turned out.

I hope you’ve been inspired today to use up those supplies, regardless of how much (or how little) you may have, and create projects you love! Remember to post your finished projects to Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio so we are sure to see them! Have a great day!

Sincere Sentiments Shaker Cards with Nathalie Leonelli

Hello, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Nathalie here to share greeting cards created with the Sincere Sentiments collection. I used a mix of both the original Wonderful You and the newest Congrats Sincere Sentiments stamps and matching dies along with other great card-making supplies from the shop. Take a look!

Supplies: Sincere Sentiments Congrats StampSincere Sentiments Congrats Metal DieSincere Sentiments Wonderful You StampSincere Sentiments Wonderful You Metal DieBanners Metal DiesMy Star Metal DieLove You Paper StackCool Solids Paper StackMagical Memories Puffy Heart and Star Stickers

It is while looking at my dies that I got the idea to make shaker cards. This first card started with the My Star Metal Die.

I discarded the cut star and kept the negative part to create a window. I love the stitched detail from the die! Underneath, I layered cardstock and papers from the Love You and Cool Solids Paper Stack.

For the sentiment, I used my favorite stamp from the Sincere Sentiments Congrats Stamp and paired it with stamps from the Wonderful You Stamp. I even embossed the “congrats” outline so it would pop even more against the bold “Friend!” in teal.

The puffy stickers in black from the Magical Memories collection add a different texture, contrast and details around the card.

My second card was a bit trickier since I had the idea to use the same die (from the Wonderful You Metal Die) three times, lining the cuts vertically and horizontally, and three shades of the same color as the background for my shaker pockets.

I am very happy with the color gradient obtained with the Cool Solids Paper Stack.

Finally for the sentiment, I embossed a stamp from the Congrats Stamp in white and easily centered it into a banner with one of the Banners Metal Dies.

I hope to have inspired you to make cards with your Sincere Sentiments stamps and metal dies! The shaker pockets add an interactive element that is fun for anyone! The best part of it all is how easy it is to use the new Congrats with the Wonderful You supplies—they really compliment each other!
